He probably wouldn't since they don't have a first round pick next year either

Agreed, adding Merrill to our D prospect pool would be insane though

Merill, Tallinder, and a 2nd for Vanek. I would still do that.

If we can do that without having to give up a first round pick I'd streak at the arena on Sunday

I would buy a Barkov Jersey immediately.

It's a decent deal but I doubt that would be the best available deal for Darcy. IMO it's on par/a little less than what we got for Pominville.

Not sure too many Nashville fans would be thrilled. We'd likely have to do a two for two involving our 8th pick or Vanek + 16.

And Vanek is worth more than Pominville. Unlike the Pommer deal, I want an elite prospect, not 2 decent ones. That is what the Sabres need.

It's looking more and more likely that at this time next week we will have an NHL team in Seattle. If the move takes place then Mike Smith is likely out. The Seattle team will need a goalie/face of the franchise and Miller could be the perfect fit.

To Seattle: Miller, Myers, 2014 2nd

To Buffalo: Samuelsson, Yandle, 2014 1st

You could also do the deal without the D swap, but at about the same cap hit, I think Yandle is, minus the size, what we HOPE Myers might be one day only right now.

We can all speculate on what will happen to Miller, however, I'm looking forward to the Garth blog about Kane's return to his hometown with 'one cup'

Where did this rumor surface about Miller to Philly? That would be amazing if that happened.

I don't hate getting Gormley but we really need a RW. Especially if we trade Vanek.

Then Samuelsson instead of the 1st. Or draft a right winger.

I like Samuelsson. Good size and pedigree. 6'2" 192.

"A big and strong player, Samuelsson plays an impressive physical type of hockey. Not the fastest of skaters, but still plays with a lot of intensity and determination. Strong along the boards and in the corners. Has also quite good puck skills and good release."

This is exactly the type of player the Sabres lack. He even plays some center.

Agree 100 percent. It is an interesting idea to trade Miller for 2 partially-developed prospects, rather than just 1 and a 1st rd pick. The idea is growing on me.

Don't hold your breath. It sounds to good to be true for starters and Darcy doesn't seem to make inter conference trades, let alone with such a high profile player.

It's a good option if no one bites by the draft and the move to Seattle takes place. If they stay in Arizona I think Smith will re-sign.

He wants lots of cash, it will be tough for the cash-strapped Coyotes to resign him.
