he's also 58% in the dot and from what I've seen and read, a real 200 feet player.

It's not like he's small at 6'0.5 190ish. He's still young and has time to grow. He also put up a better PPG than Backstrom did in his draft year. So I'm guessing he'll light the lamp a good amount in the NHL

- TheNugeIsHuge

Again, qualify that high FO percentage with Gregor's insight that he only took 67 faceoffs this year.

yea unfortunately we can't find all the terms of the contract. I'm just going to assume if there's an out clause at all, he could use it for the AHL too.

Central scouting has him at like 2. He'd definitely be valuable. Although a 2nd line of Nich-Gags-Yak next year'd be a defensive slaughter. Could they play 5th line opposition?

- TheNugeIsHuge

from what i read and understand, once nichushkin is drafted, it could be "make it or break it" time for him to be signed by the team, if not, he prob will choose to return to khl, not ahl. could very much be a radulov-like situation. once he returns, that two year term with dynamo starts and i don't think he's eligible to return until that two year term is up. so...sign him for three year elc or let him go to khl fo two years?

Be interesting to see where he goes. He loves TB, so does FLA make any sense?
- Lahey

FLA perhaps, or a cup contender. Maybe a 1 year deal so he can resign in TB a year later?
Think it would be wishful thinking he would choose Edmonton, we could certainly use a C of his quality.

we'll be looking for backup or even a guy to push dubs abit. but the key is salary. we aint gonna spend tons of cash on one.
he's not at the top of my list, but i wouldn't be completely opposed to giving ilya a go if he was willing to sign cheap and short term.

- hugefemale dog77

I think spending a bit of money might save us some in the long run. We want a goalie that can really push Dubnyk. Dubnyk's on his last year of his contract, and if we don't have a viable alternative he'll become a de facto permanent starter this year and we risk having to pay him more than he's worth. If Dubnyk's contract was up now, I'd want him at no more than the 3.5 per we're already paying him. Grabbing a goalie that is competent enough that Dubnyk doesn't force our hand is key.

That's why, we gun for Emery, sign him for TWO years and give him 30 starts.

It doesn't go in to specifics in what I want to learn about so I still think he could have the option to play in the AHL. And even if he doesn't have the option, it's the same case without the attitude problems I suggested.

If he's not good enough to play in the NHL, he'll develop his russian ice game in the KHL for the year(s) he spends there. That's too much risk to take a guy at 7.

- TheNugeIsHuge

People and they're insecurities about Russian players, it's a bit ridiculous.

I see. so you think nurse has a higher ceiling than klefbom?

fair enough. but I don't agree

- hugefemale dog77

Why not out of curiosity? Higher ranked prospect in a so called deeper draft. Or is it just that Klefbom's overall ceiling is higher, but Nurse is more likely to reach his potential?

Could sell him that he'd be centering Hall and then one of Eberle/Yak.

Could be a good way to pad his stats.

That's another good pick. The important thing is the two years, and being prepared to spend ~2-3 million on a 1a

khudobin making $875k last season, i am sure he'll be happy with your offer. he's ufa. i think he can push dubnyk. there's maybe an upside to him we don't know and playing behind rask is tough for any potential. boston prob can't resign him or i hope khudobin won't resign there. but i'd consider trading for his rights.

After listening to spec I don't want Bryzgalov. Made the obvious point that if he isn't starter that he's going to become a pain in everyone's ass.

ignore me.

I just think if he has the option to go to NA to play in the NHL, he should have the option to go the AHL.

No need to even respond to me, I know exactly what you'll say

- TheNugeIsHuge

it's two completely different leagues, how does that make sense to you at all?

A good way to pad his stats and future paychecks. I would be happy to take him even on the one year.

read the descriptions of Nichushkin and MPS in their draft years. Also they score the same goals
- TheNugeIsHuge

MPS wasn't known to use his size like Nichuskin though was he?

both smith and bryz i stay away. that tippet defensive system in phx prob covered their ass alot and obtaining good numbers until they hit a bad defensive team, it's all downhill.

Oops, poor memory on my part.
Here's the interview:

He just said that "it would be better if I’m picked by the team that wanted to see me on their first line." And I think he means next year, not at some point in his career.

We could just stay away from making goalie trades with teams like St. Louis and Phx altogether. Personally though, you could use opposing logic and say any goalie from Philly should turn out good cause look at Bob. This in turn would create a conundrum with Bryz as he has played for both teams...

Try more than set. I'm worried how you'll afford all of your talent when rookie contracts start to run out.

Ya but if you have 4 guys that deserve to be paid 7mil plus then at a minimum you have $28 mil going to 4 players. Thats 40% or more of your cap spent and you don't even have your top 6 filled out. Don't expect to have ANY depth if that's the route you wanna go.
- JAKEw1234

so basically the cap will never change?

It's going down for one year. Already said for 14-15 that it's going to be damn near back to 70mil. Not hard when they have a dozen outdoors games.

Buyouts are happening because teams want out of horrible contracts that can bite them after.

Obviously Mac T calls about Lecavalier, what do we offer him. 3 years at 5 per? That may be a bit rich but I think that will be in the ball park to get him. If, big IF, we sign him for that do we look to moving Gagner for D help, for ex. Kulikov?

Than you can draft a centre
