I'd be shocked if Nichushkin is still available at #7 - laughs2907
probably right.
but just for argument sake, u wouldn't be surprised if it went;
mac
jones
drouin
barkov
would ya?
or even the rumour that fla wants a center too and instead it went;
mac
barkov
jones
drouin
?
i think both of those are extremely plausible.
it's really all on Carolina as I think calgary'll go center regardless if nichushkin is available.
AND I read an article tied to the hurricanes organization recently saying they wanted immediate help and didn't think nich was ready.
all conjecture I know. but just sayin... |

Nichushkin has attitude problems. He's gotta suck up the smaller pay check n take a season in the AHL. If he's not good enough to make the NHL, he should develop to the NA game. Don't want a radulov. Take Ristolainen before Nich, please and thank you. - TheNugeIsHuge
it was part of the stipulation with getting out of his contract that he agree to come back to the K if he didn't make the nhl. |

if he doesn't make the squad, I wouldn't want him developing his russian ice game and struggling in NA. Swallow the hit to his bank account and play in the AHL if he's not good enough to make it. I'd take Ristolainen, Nurse, or Horvat before I take Nich. |

Dont draft goalies in the first round... - Richieattack18
Well id rather get a defensemen, but as I said if the draft fell as described in the mock, I'm fine taking a goalie.
Even though you can find good goalies later in the draft, I don't trust this organizations scouting and obviously their track record with them. I know they have Stolarz who looks promising, but I'd like to get as many highly rated young goalies into the system as possible so maybe finally we can end this goalie parade. Since as I said I don't trust them, I'd rather take the goalie everyone deems to be the best in the draft by far, and If he doesnt pan out so be it. |

he made an agreement with his Russian club when they let him out of his contract.
the point is moot |

I'm hoping EDM takes Jarry or Comrie at 37, or Fucale if he somehow slips 10 spots. |

he has an out clause. He has the choice to leave his contract. You could be right, but I need to see some proof. Send me a link |

I hope the Wings end up with Michael McCarron in the 2nd round somehow. 6'5, 228 pound winger that plays a power forward game...yes please. |

I don't know if it was Nashville's or Carolina's head scout, but one of them had a major hard-on for Nichushkin... He compared him to a combination of Malkin and Ovechkin. The guy was going ape-sh1t over him. |

'twas tampa's. and yeah he did. loves him.
but I also read Nashville is interested too.
end of the day, you're earlier comment is most likely right. it's a longshot.
but marginally possible under a few different scenarios |

It doesn't go in to specifics in what I want to learn about so I still think he could have the option to play in the AHL. And even if he doesn't have the option, it's the same case without the attitude problems I suggested.
If he's not good enough to play in the NHL, he'll develop his russian ice game in the KHL for the year(s) he spends there. That's too much risk to take a guy at 7. |
