The people of Toronto just remind themselves that at least he's not corrupt enough to run MTL

What I saw in the playoffs was pretty spectacular for a guy who hasn't played a lot of pro hockey, and who was against a very tough team in Boston. He, along with Reimer, have shown enough to deserve another look. If we trade him away, then we continue our reputation of never properly developing talent and being patient.

As for Letang

For the last 5 years Letang has played on a team with the likes of Crosby and Malkin. He gobbled up points on the PP to the extent that he was top 5 in league D points. Yet, he hasn't done anything in his own end to prevent what's happened to PIT these last couple years(think: Mike Green)

Unless we're sure we'll get top-notch tending, there's no reason spending young assets just to get a guy who, while being an effective OFD, isn't a solution to our problems, especially with regards to Dion.

I still say Letang doesn't make a lot of sense, esp. if it involves Gards.

Look, if a guy who can complement Dion is what we're looking for, then why are we going after an offensive Dman??

We already have enough punch from the back end in Gards and Franson.

If what we want is even more punch, then let's get Dion to start putting more pucks in the net.

BB's record actually looks pretty good in retrospect now that the media wank-fest has stopped.

He restocked young first rounders. Won all his trades hands-down, and the more we see of Kessel, the more reason we have to believe that we did get the best player in that deal.

I agree. Would be wayyyyyyyy to much expectations on Vinny if he played in his hometown province of Que. Canadien's fans would expect him to carry them to the cup. I think he is a keeper, but imho, Phaneuf still sits waaaaaay above him on the performance meter.
