Gardiner is punch from the back end? How many goals did he score this year? - honesthockey
He had 5 points in 6 games in the playoffs of the toughest hockey league in the world. More than Phaneuf with less playing time and the same amount of goals |

His dream may become a reality.... - ShootingSemin
I'd take a risk on him. He's only 33 I think. He's not terrible. Give him a 2 or 3 year deal. I bet they are chomping at the bit about him coming to Montreal on their radio stations. |

I'm just pointing out his weaknesses, doesn't mean he doesn't have value. - MapleLeafsFTW
Dion has value cause he'l do well for the right team that can cover up his weakness's. Mabie Pitt will be a good fit for Dion cause he'll have to shut his mouth & keep his ego in check. |

Impossible.
Dion isn't capable of shutting his mouth.

For the right price, and term, maybe, either way until he finally signs somewhere else, it's all we will hear about... |

Who here would sign Vinny? - weirdoh
I would, he's big, pretty good on faceoffs if I recall correctly, and you don't lose the talent he has. Whether or not it will ever shine through again is a big question mark. |

I'd ve curious to see how he'd do playing with Kessel. Not completely convinced it would work, just curious. He certainly would be an upgrade over Bozak. |

I'd say Montreal would be ideal for him. Return of the great French Hope. But I bet he signs somewhere like TB was, maybe Florida. Keep out of the spotlight. |

What I saw in the playoffs was pretty spectacular for a guy who hasn't played a lot of pro hockey, and who was against a very tough team in Boston. He, along with Reimer, have shown enough to deserve another look. If we trade him away, then we continue our reputation of never properly developing talent and being patient.
As for Letang
For the last 5 years Letang has played on a team with the likes of Crosby and Malkin. He gobbled up points on the PP to the extent that he was top 5 in league D points. Yet, he hasn't done anything in his own end to prevent what's happened to PIT these last couple years(think: Mike Green)
Unless we're sure we'll get top-notch tending, there's no reason spending young assets just to get a guy who, while being an effective OFD, isn't a solution to our problems, especially with regards to Dion. |

No but you seemed pretty quick to write off Gardiner after 12 games this season? Just to remind you, my argument is still that I would rather see Phaneuf go before Gardiner. |

I'd be very surprised if he went to TOR.
He'll want insane money in order to put up with a hot-bed market, and if that is what he wants, I say he takes MTL or NYR over us.
And it wouldn't surprise me if it's a 1 year deal, then he moves back to TB |
