It wouldn't be straight up though. We would lose this years first and probably Phaneuf. - MapleLeafsFTW
Phaneuf in that deal would be overpayment. |

So his sucking is because he doesnt have a defensive defensemen to babysit him when he makes bonehead mistakes, yeah, that doesnt sound even remotely sensible.... - ShootingSemin
Yes. You got it. That's exactly what I said. Brilliant. |

I'd rather have Phaneuf in the deal than Gardiner. |

Did you watch the Toronto Boston series? He usually got it out before they got hemmed in, I'd give him a lot of credit for how we did. - MapleLeafsFTW
He put the winning goal on the tape for Bergeron. How may bad passes off the boards in his own end did he make? Unless he has ice and is skating with it it's a poop show

Dion has more value, and cost us the Boston series. We can live without his costly turnovers and slow footspeed, oh and he's soft in his in zone to boot. |

He was our second best defensemen in the series, by a mile. |

And without him there would have been no playoffs. You are insane if you think this lineup sans Dion would be worth a piece of poop. |

It might have worked out if Phaneuf knew how to clear the front of the net. |

Exactly what I've been trying to say. Phaneuf isnt that good, but still the best we got by a mile. |

I still say Letang doesn't make a lot of sense, esp. if it involves Gards.
Look, if a guy who can complement Dion is what we're looking for, then why are we going after an offensive Dman??
We already have enough punch from the back end in Gards and Franson.
If what we want is even more punch, then let's get Dion to start putting more pucks in the net. |
