Latendresse is underrated. LaRose too. Agreed on each name except Ponikarovsky. I just don't see him being useful.

I don't see TOR and EDM trading. Toronto doesn't have any high end dmen that we would want. Gardiner is a project and would play 5-6 for us. We already have klef and potter to play there. The Oil need someone better than Petry to make any trade.

Gagner will sign, it is not a big deal. It won't be over 5 for him. This is all just rumor. As for why we would want Briere... because we want a top 6 player and gagner can play wing or center.

As for Bolland, I don't even see how we would trade for a guy who is at peak price but a third line guy. Who would we give up? I think we all know we have nothing to offer. Edm is too short of prospects to give up a second round this year when we don't have a third.

Trading down in the draft is ridiculous. 1 spot? I am sorry but Nish fits what the Oilers are looking for and if he is there, they are crazy not to take him. We need a winger with size to replace Hemsky... why would they trade down to get Horvat? Makes no sense.

As for what they can do. Bryz might be an option for backup because the fact of the matter is there aren't that many low priced ones out there to be had and tons of teams looking for one. Vinny did his high school on the border of Alberta and Sask. At a decent price he could be persuaded to come home. He still puts up decent numbers even though he is on Tampa's second line.

I think we can forget the trade talks unless it involves Hemsky or a pick next year. Oilers will draft 7th this year and take one of the forwards that are predicted. The Oilers will try to sign a second line guy and a backup. Don't expect a dman and stop bringing the leafs into this. They are not trading. Our teams are too similar in needs. We both need a top 6 guy and a 1-2 dman.

but I think petrys two way game makes him more valuable to us than gardiner would be.
not at all to say I wouldn't want him, but we have a young offence first guy, and literally only 1 true two way dman in petry. I like petry more than gardiner for our team.
