He has the potential to be our Andrew Shaw-equivalent. May not be a 25-30 goal scorer like Marchand has been, but he has speed, can be a real pain in the ass, and has enough skill to be a 15-20 goal guy.

So make sure you go over there and make some stupid comments. Add to his pay.

If there is a decision then he must be getting bought out??

Or they could take the decision to not buy him out...

Probably missed the convo but, what's the consensus on Lecavalier? He a good fit for us? Brad Richards?

Either or, this much we know, the centre position is getting interesting heading into UFA.

The problem with Stalberg is that he seems to thrive most when he's parachuted into a top-6 role, and is riding shotgun with better players. Don't' think we have any room for him on our top 2 lines, especially if Nonis is successful in upgrading the #1C spot...
- p_zub

I dunno,

JvR - Vinny - Kes
Lupul - Kadri - Stalberg
Kulemin - Grabo - Clarkson
McLement - Gordon - Orr

Sounds ok to me!

I think Vinnie or Richards would be a solid pickup for the Leafs.
Richards maybe a bit more then Vinnie, Richards distributes the puck well.

Richards between Lupul and Kessel, 2 elite shooters, would probably work well.

Like Dozzer said, he prob gets paid by those who click on the blog itself, but # of comments may or may not be relevant...

I think he's a perfect fit. Haven't the leafs been looking for a biggish center for ever?

42 points in 39 games. Wasn't bought out because he's a bum. 33 years old? Lots left.

Leafs should be all over him, but they'll have plenty of competition.

I hope, or even a Leafs possibly. But yeah, seems to still want to be out of the NHL right now. Havent' heard otherwise.

But he was talking about only guys on entry level deals.

Leafs have two things going for them...

1) Young roster on the rise, not the decline.
2) Loads of cap space going into the season, they can pay someone handsomely

They're announcing that they are announcing a decision not to buy him out?? Find it hard to believe.

"i've called this presser to tell you we are doing nothing"

I'm sure that'd go over well with Richards. Hey, we thought long and hard about buying you out, but we didn't... you should be happy.

Leafs should be all over Richards, if bought out.
