If i'm not mistaken this was to do with some politics and many never blamed Matteau for his antics... if he was at fault, he is young and can change his attitude - still doesn't diminish his playing ability

the player clears waivers doesnt mean he has been bought out.

it all has to do with the dates on the paperwork. i dont think there is a hard and fast rule.. just that the paperwork wouldnt be moving all that quickly.

and what we're seeing seems to confirm this.. we havent heard of any of these "bought out" players communicating with other teams yet

Players on No Movement clauses don't have to clear waivers they are UFAs Asap.

but can't sign anywhere until July 5th... same as every other player who has ever been bought out in June buyout period...

has to wait until start of Free Agency.

Yes they are UFA immediately.

Yes they have no contract asap.

I like Grabs but if he isn't scoring he's pretty much useless, plus he did little this year and the offense had no problems. Other players bring versatility so even when they don't produce they hold value to the Leafs.
