You mean this guy? Ya. He's a real winner...

If i'm not mistaken this was to do with some politics and many never blamed Matteau for his antics... if he was at fault, he is young and can change his attitude - still doesn't diminish his playing ability |

my question is why not at least hire a hitman? some hope of it not being traced back to you.

i just remember reading it somewhere..
the player clears waivers doesnt mean he has been bought out.
it all has to do with the dates on the paperwork. i dont think there is a hard and fast rule.. just that the paperwork wouldnt be moving all that quickly.
and what we're seeing seems to confirm this.. we havent heard of any of these "bought out" players communicating with other teams yet |

Well, I guess the father of those two sisters is relieved, two less weddings to pay for, and two less bumholes in his family. |

always been this way.
player bought out during June buyout period becomes UFA and free to sign anywhere on July 1st (or 5th in this case). |

Phaneuf's destination is the first line unless he's an asset used to get another asset straight up but who's going to replace his defensive minutes, his defensive points and his max minutes with the other teams best?
Letang sucked at that in the play-offs and he had who he had in Pitt!
Scuderi would be a good fit for a 3-4 year contract pair him up with Phaneuf reduce Phaneuf's ice time to 22 increase Fraser and Franson's ice time to 18 and see what Gardner can do with 19-20 minutes with some looks at the first line.
Jesse Blacker could fit.
It's clear that Nonis want's to stay young and Scuderi is not even a rumour but having all those young guys on D Scuderi would be that pro that could mentor that defensive core along with a rejuvenated Dion Phaneuf who did not have a good partner but still was int he top 10 of defensive scoring. |

but can't sign anywhere until July 5th... same as every other player who has ever been bought out in June buyout period...
has to wait until start of Free Agency. |

What a ridic argument, everyone is right.
Yes they are UFA immediately.
Yes they have no contract asap.
And yes they have to wait for Free Agency to open just like every other RFA and UFA. |

while i don't necessarily disagree
if innocent until proven guilty is a true statement.... then its pretty poopty to hold someone who is technically "innocent" - dragus84
Than everybody should get bail for free then? no? |

I like Grabs but if he isn't scoring he's pretty much useless, plus he did little this year and the offense had no problems. Other players bring versatility so even when they don't produce they hold value to the Leafs. - aminnes
Again....it was RC's fault for how he used Grabo.....he was using him defensively.....which is not how he gets points. |
