Phaneuf is year in and year out voted the most overrated player in the league by a poll amoungst current players.

I also Stastny was in the top of the league for PPGvsQOC and I would argue is currently underrated.

If the leafs managed to get stastny for Phaneuf it would be an overwhelming win for them, especially in Carlyle's system.

If the Avs hold onto the max amount of his final year of his contract possible (which they have no reason not to) they could get a huge return for him. Far better than Phaneuf.

I would take his wife though.

You should probably be weary of a poll that wont directly reference any player that has taken the poll. Players have bias's too, Dion doesn't seem to care about making friends on opposing teams.

The Leafs need to do whatever it takes to land Vinny...no question.
As for Letang...he is the player everyone wants Rielly to become...so I'd be ok with trading him straight for Letang but I know Pitts would want more.
However, acquiring Letang means and keeping Pa-neuf and Franson, means no Vinny or quality center.
So......I want a center!

I would love to get Vinny. I am verrrry wary of the rumor of him potentially signing for 1 year then going back to Tampa.

I feel that a guy making that kind of deal is absolutely not going to put his heart into that team and give you his best.
