Jeff Marek ‏@JeffMarek 2m
Former Tampa GM's Rick Dudley + Brian Lawton both had deals in place in the past to move Lecavalier that ownership ended up nixing.

Jeff Marek ‏@JeffMarek 2m
Dudley had him going to Toronto for Kaberle, Antropov, Hoglund and either Boyes or a 1st (TB choice).

Montreals offer is beyond nuts, pretty much the nucleus of their team now.

A Calgary rail bridge is collapsing, threatening to send as many as five rail cars carrying a diesel-like substance into the Bow River.

Emergency crews evacuated an 800-metre radius of the site Thursday morning, including Deerfoot Trail, a major Calgary thoroughfare. That closure will further leave traffic in near-gridlock in Alberta's biggest city, as flooding closures were already causing extensive delays.

Oh, oh

- Canada Cup

It was a very dumb move to put those cars out on that bridge. Did they not think that the water would make it wash out..And then to find out they have cars with fuel in them.. Head shaker.

find it hard to believe. They work together on sportsnet. I dont think he's lying or mistaken. I've heard lawton himself say that he had a deal in place for Lecavalier.

Meh... if its for the players i have seen mentioned...it will cost a ton

We dont always have to trade off our youth.. we made the playoffs finally.. now we think we are contenders adding every possible player

Letang and Phaneuf on the same team scares me...not in a good way

If that was true, and the Bolts did not pull the trigger, bet they wished they had of now.

At the time MTL was clamoring for that big stud center (and french to boot) and Pac was a late 1st still playing in Michigan, they had Halak (who was doing very well).

Lecavalier was coming off a 108pts season and had 98pts the following season( When LAwton was GM)

The Leafs had a couple deals in place in the early 2000's involving Kaberle and Antropov for big names.

They had Kulemin + Kaberle for Richards

Antropov + Markov + 1st for Lindros

two that I can think of
