In all seriousness though, feel bad for Vinny, but his contract is/was crippling the franchise, and it had to go. Didn't think it would be this summer, but I guess it doesn't matter when it is now.

The Lightning have already sent out a relatively lengthy letter to all season ticket members explaining the compliance buyout process and the Lecavalier news. I'm sure a lot of people in Tampa are not going to be pleased.

Wouldn't be surprised now if Tampa goes after Barkov to replace him long term. also Sign a veteran possibly for 2-3 years. Gonna be interesting to see if Malone is bought out as well, or if they're going to try and find a home for him via trade.

I think Drouin and Stamkos would be a deadly combo.

With the Bolts apparantly buying out Lecavalier, they may need to look at Barkov as a replacement #2 center.

Purcell. Malone or Johnson can play center. With Johnson, Kilborn,Panik, Palat ready to join the Bolts and either Barkov who I think goes 4 Jones or Drouin at number3 they look to be set. Plus with Ohlund on LITR they have about 12 mil in cap space to play with for another vet or Dman if we don't get Jones.

To be fair, I presented both sides of the argument. I didn't say it would never happen; I just expected it to happen next year.
