Look I'm with you guys. I do think that the Brooklyn folks will eventually own this team. Nothing proves that to me right now because I think Wang knows that we will recoup some of the cash he lost while the Isles were in Nassau. He WILL make money with the team in Barclays so I don't think that a sale of the team to the Brooklyn guys is going to happen right away. I think that with those guys running the business side, they will know what it takes to get the team financially stable with large corporate sponsorships, ticket sales and marketing. Clearly Wang has no clue how to do that with the Isles now so he is leaving it up to proven, successful businessmen to take care of it for him.
Maybe in a few years he will eventually sell, I think he will. Just not right now. - NewYawkIslandez

It wasn't only the financial side of the comment it was the "we will do everything we can to improve the team" part that got me pissed. You can't say that and fill the cap space with people like Rolston and Pandalfo. Thomas was a purely financial move/strategy obviously but when you have cap space to fill and fill it with garbage that doesn't really depict Snow as a competent GM. - Cptmjl
I honestly think Snow made one of his few personnel misjudgements with Rolston. I don't think anyone thought he was going to be as bad as he was. Same with Reasoner. Both went from 20 goal scorers to echl players

Really? Completely disagree with this comment. I honestly thought he wouldn't be that bad but the rest of the NHL fanbase and every discussion involving that trade knew Rolston was done. He was terrible the season before and the one he got traded in. Donezo! |

My friend knows the Winnipeg Jets head scout, and he got me 6 tixx.
we are all meeting up on Saturday, going to try and pick his brain...
before he became the Jets scout, he was Vancouver's scout for Manitoba, he found Grabs, Schneider, Edler, etc.....
should be interesting |

Yeah I read that. That site is just a little more credible than Ek overall. There are some credible spots on it, you just have to dissect. This little tidbit I don't believe. That's there just because common sense would tell you that's what any team would do, they forgot who they were dealing with. |

What did Boston say to him at the end of the season? - SCLI
He demanded a six year term at five mil per. Philly outbid them at 4.75 and Rolston refused to play for such meager scraps. He then decided to retire with his head high |

I'm not saying anyone expected Rolston was a good signing, but the guy was on pace for 20 goals and 50 points the season before. As I said, I don't think anyone thought he was going to put up 9 points in 49 games. Especially when you consider he then went on to put up 15 points in 21 games with Boston.
I think most were expecting 15-20 goals on Tavares wing. There's no question it was a cap signing for a team playing it cheap, but I don't think for a minute Snow thought he was going to pay that type of money for 4 goals in 49 games. I'm not sure how anyone could say they thought he would be quite as abysmal as he was once here.

I'm not going to lie. A little smile did come across my face as I was reading it and I wasn't in a good mood today. |
