Well I speculated about this very thing and was called an idiot in a dozen nice ways - Cptmjl
Well than I'm an idiot as well. Why would Wang let Yorkman run the business side? The Isles just made the playoffs for the first time in years. Why is Wang being so quite?

Oh he did say it... But do you believe that there's no financial limit? I sure don't
Xxkeaner17xX - keaner17
It wasn't only the financial side of the comment it was the "we will do everything we can to improve the team" part that got me pissed. You can't say that and fill the cap space with people like Rolston and Pandalfo. Thomas was a purely financial move/strategy obviously but when you have cap space to fill and fill it with garbage that doesn't really depict Snow as a competent GM. |

I agree. No playoffs and you have to think Snow is done. Especially if Ratner and company are in charge. Yorkman running the business side really makes you think. Well the draft is Sunday and FA on 7/5. We will find out very quickly what Snow has up his sleeve. - ses111
As long as Wangy owns this team, Snow is your GM for the duration. As of now, we don't know if Yormark/Ratner/Prokhorov will be purchasing the team. Those guys are running the business side of things. Its still Wangs team and he makes the personnel decisions which means he controls Snows hand on Hockey ops.
Wang is so unbelievably loyal to people that he will never fire Snow. Fackin Milbury had to step down because he couldn't get himself fired, DP is still on the books and who knows what it took to convince him to buyout Yashin. The guy just doesn't see the big picture and he never will. Its a shame. |

Good point It just seems to me like Yorkman has been acting like he owns the team. Very strange. I'm sure there is more to come. |

Come on man. I was happy that thing was off this page. Now you will pay the ultimate price. I will write a long winded post about RDP and how he was never any good and politics for the grand finale just to get this pic off the page so I don't have to look at it!! |

What is he supposed say? I only have a budget of $35m even though the salary cap is a lot higher, and we don't plan on doing anything to help the team. |

Look I'm with you guys. I do think that the Brooklyn folks will eventually own this team. Nothing proves that to me right now because I think Wang knows that we will recoup some of the cash he lost while the Isles were in Nassau. He WILL make money with the team in Barclays so I don't think that a sale of the team to the Brooklyn guys is going to happen right away. I think that with those guys running the business side, they will know what it takes to get the team financially stable with large corporate sponsorships, ticket sales and marketing. Clearly Wang has no clue how to do that with the Isles now so he is leaving it up to proven, successful businessmen to take care of it for him.
Maybe in a few years he will eventually sell, I think he will. Just not right now. |

Don't say in so many words he could spend to the cap. What do you think he'd be the first GM to say he has a limited budget? Milbury said it with every owner he was a GM with. GM's say it all the time. It's not that unusual especially in a completely obvious situation like this. |
