Definitely. IMO, if this team doesn't make the playoffs this year, that's it for Snow. I think in many areas he's done well (draft and waiver) but there have been enough bad decisions like Rolston, Pandolfo, losing PA without a trade and Reasoner to keep him from getting glowing reviews. He now has a team that only needs 2-3 players to make them a formidable playoff opponent. Can he do it? I hope so.

very very true......in a way Luongo would be kinda cool...battle of new york...Lunquist vs Luongo!!! He would be one player that would move us in the right direction (on the ice)

I agree. No playoffs and you have to think Snow is done. Especially if Ratner and company are in charge. Yorkman running the business side really makes you think. Well the draft is Sunday and FA on 7/5. We will find out very quickly what Snow has up his sleeve.

To the Islanders: James Reimer, Toronto's first round pick. (21)

To Toronto: Ryan Strome, Islanders first round pick. (15)

I can live with Luongo if it's for DP and very little else from the Isles. No big picks or prospects though. Van should just buy him out. They could get burned by trading him due to his contract if he retires before his deal is up.

Strome is still a prospect, where Reimer is a proven commodity. Where else are you going to find a 24 year old starting goaltender? Strome may very well be a very good player, but he plays behind JT.
- PrinceLH

Reimer isn't that good or else TOR doesn't trade for...another goaltender (one who isnt established at that).

And yours aren't? Fact is you've been peeing your Vanity Fairs ever since a few of us mentioned you having a one-track mind (if we can call it that) that only seems to function on two speeds...attack Garth and attack someone who doesn't attack him with you. The only thing that works for you is whatever path leads to the ultimate of cynical views on Snow. Hell, I've said all year that I'd score Garth's overall job as a "C". At least I'm giving him a fair evaluation. Your evaluations are like playing the six degrees of Garth Snow, which constantly ends with the same conclusion.

I'm going to put this in small and simple words so you can understand (you may want to get someone to read this to you), the Islanders needed to get to the cap FAST due to the Viz situation. $5 million players don't just fall off trees. You can't just pick up the phone and say "Hey, I've got to make a trade for a marquee player NOW otherwise this chick JMO is going to continue to type blistering negative reviews about me online". Both teams did eachother a favor. Big deal. The Isles had to get to the cap floor FAST and found a way to do it without giving up a single thing. If you really think Charles has given Snow the green light to spend whatever he wants than you should get your mother to use less intense chemicals on the windows you've been licking. This team loses $16million annually. They're treading water until 2015. Your GM has managed, despite having the worst GM's position in hockey, to build this team through the draft and waiver wire and get them into the playoffs.

He has said he'd improve the team but "Not at the expense of our prospects". Meanwhile you once again SPECULATE as to the reason why Free Agents haven't signed here. All points lead to Snow. You're like friggin' Ray Finkle!

You gripe about not trading Thomas' rights without even taking the 10 seconds to do a google search and educate yourself on why that wouldn't make sense...yet you still write 'FAIL'.

The jury is still out on Garth. He's not exactly had an even playing field to operate on over the years but the stadium issue is out of the way now. Wang will finally start spending in 2015. Free agents should have taken notice of Tavares and company and be more interested. Yet even if they manage to win a cup in 3-4 years, you'll proclaim it should of been here sooner. It's laughable. 100,000 sperm and you were the fastest? WOW.

Your officially the second person who's pi$$ed me off enough to insult. Kencan was the other and frankly I see little difference between either of you at this point.

Wow.
You've missed the entire point.
I guess I have to explain it all out for you. I'll type slowly so you might keep up.

Its easier to add $$$ than subtract it.
Why would we do Boston a favor if there wasn't added incentive for US????

Why doesn't Garth play by the book(shocker: he was accused of cheating his whole career with pads too big) and SPEND the $42mil on players to field the BEST team and get to the floor with talent instead of tricky bookkeeping??? How much could $5Million in talent have improved this team????? He's stated repeatedly that he will improve the team in any way, if he can - AND that Charles has NEVER said no to him when he asked for $$$ to offer a player. So why acquire Thomas to get to the floor???? BECAUSE HE CANT F'IN GET A DECENT FREE AGENT TO SIGN BECAUSE THEY ALL THINK HIM, WANG AND CAPPY ARE A JOKE! Is that a clear enough explanation for you?

I think you just like contradicting my posts. Your arguments are all weak and speculative. You don't know any more than I do about what motivates Garth to the decisions he makes. And you for some reason give him the benefit of the doubt at every turn. I'm looking down the road pal and from where I'm standing it's a big gray area. How gray? Charcoal.

- jmo16

The incentive was for us to reach the floor without having to spend 5 million dollars.
Not for nothing, but one of the other benefits of rebuilding through the draft is talent at a low price. Our talented players aren't making much money & the kids following behind them are making even less. That extra 5 million helped get some lower priced prospects into the line up & gave them needed time on the island. We could have spent that 5 million on another Rolston but then his spot would have eaten up a spot that a more deserving prospect wouldn't have gotten because he was low priced.

Ohh yha and it saved Wang some money from this financial sieve of a team.

The FAIL of Thomas was NOT getting the ability to trade his rights. Do our rival a favor because he's INCAPABLE of spending what everyone else is supposed to spend. Not Garth, tho. No. He's SMARTER than everyone, just like you think you are. I hope you never go into business for yourself because you don't understand how business works and you'd fail and become another burden on the system. You're like so much else of America. Feeling the world owes them something just because you showed up.

You're also defending WANG???? HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! Cry me a river for a billionaire...is he your boss or something? If he had a better GM & Coach his team would likely be more profitable. One's connected to the other.

"He has said he'd improve the team but "Not at the expense of our prospects". Meanwhile you once again SPECULATE as to the reason why Free Agents haven't signed here. All points lead to Snow. You're like friggin' Ray Finkle!
I'm questioning WHY he didn't SPEND the $5mil and you're saying I'm suggesting GIVING away prospects??????????? Please keep the argument contained to what I wrote - cos that's just making shat up! But since you mentioned it, let me point out you are 100% wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!! From an interview last year at draft time Garth said, "We have the prospects and cap space to go out and get the impact player that will help take this team to the next level." LOOK IT UP. $1000 CASH IF YOU CAN PROVE ME WRONG. Seriously, if you're gonna call me out, do your homework as well, otherwise you look like a hypocrit, not to mention other things. You also posted the other day that Poulin is ready to take on the starting role. Sure. And pigs fly too.

If you don't like where my posts end, don't reply. I don't mind someone arguing/debating/disagreeing with me. But when you resort to insulting me, as I stated last week to someone else, it's so 8th grade. And because you have no other leg to stand on. It's the same as admitting defeat. But if my posts upset you, then I will have to try and post twice as much.

This team will never reach the Cup finals, lest win, with Garth at the helm. So, I will never be complaining that he didn't get us there fast enough cos it won't happen.

Finally, normal male sperm count is somewhere between 15 and 20 Million sperm per milliliter. Maybe your daddy only had 100,000 to create you with.
It makes sense tho, which you sorely lack.

- jmo16

You don't even know if that could be legally done. The moment Thomas plays or is traded, the Isles became subject to the conditional pick. That wasn't negotiable. What's silly is the moment three people told you that comment was stupid, you then change it to "well Snow shouldn't have agreed to that condition." without even knowing if it was legal to have that type of condition.

You're like so much else of America. Feeling the world owes them something just because you showed up.
- jmo16

Absolutely stupid comment. If there were more people like you there'd be less people like you. Right now I'm apparently in the business of arguing with an idiot.

You're also defending WANG???? HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! Cry me a river for a billionaire...is he your boss or something? If he had a better GM & Coach his team would likely be more profitable. One's connected to the other..
- jmo16

Not entirely. That said, the guys total net worth was estimated at around $890 million. He's lost around $200 million and purchased the team for I believe around $160million, so over 35% of his net worth has gone into this team and continues to be sucked away at an additional $16 million a year. You sound more like the burden as it seems your more than willing to spend other peoples money. This team was in major trouble long before Wang and Snow came along and it's frankly a miracle it's still here now. Of course I'm sure you feel the lease is Snow's fault too> I don't like lots of things Charles has done but frankly if I was hemoraging money like he has, I'd be doing the same thing knowing the team can be in the black annually in another two years.

You also posted the other day that Poulin is ready to take on the starting role. Sure. And pigs fly too.
- jmo16

False. Please post the link. I've never said Poulin is 'ready' to take the starting role. I've said it's time to give him 25-40 starts to see what we've got with him and then decide on whether to fish or cut bait. Nice try junior.
You wanted Snow to acquire $5 million of roster players..did you think that would come for free? I guess it's Snow's fault now that he can't get teams to simply give us players?

But when you resort to insulting me, as I stated last week to someone else, it's so 8th grade
- jmo16

Oh so you're a victim now?
You happen to be the same one who made a comment two weeks ago that I was "the type of guy who lets his girlfriend cheat on him and forgives her without question" Then today felt you needed to type slowly so I could follow? But now you've got a hurt vag because I threw a couple of things back at ya? Puh-lease.

I'm sure every time Snow interviews it has you stomping your high heels but the reality is the guy has a crappy job. The fact that someone like you is going search for everything possible to attack him does little more than discredit anything you write from this point on.

I think Snow has screwed up on a lot of things, but I'm not nearly as desparate as you to connect the dots to all things Snow.

I wouldn't mind at all. He is a solid player and having him on the Isles means that he wouldn't score on us every single game like he does when we play Florida. That facker! When Horton was on Florida the two of them would have a field day with the Isles.
