that is 100 percent accurate. I pray for his health lol

You were one of the folks I had in mind when I said that. BD is another. Also heard it from someone on another board I used to frequent.

This is100% how I feel. I'm guessing there is a larger part of me then you that's waiting to be disappointed though?

Yeah.. I know you were pretty much right there with us going into the playoffs in feeling good about things and I certainly understand the guarded entusiasm. I'm just trying to stay away from the doom and gloom forecasts at least until we're a couple weeks into free agency.

I'm gonna throw out a crazy idea. Maybe he is looking to upgrade over Nabby and that's why he is in no rush to sign him?
- Vukota

I dont think we make the PO's with Nabby as our #1 goalie. Seems he ran out of steam during this yrs PO's after only playing about 40 games during the shortened season.

I guess we could toss Poulin into the fire but I'm not all that confident he can lead us back to the PO either.

I think we need to bring in someone outside the organization as our #1 with either Nabby or Poulin as the back up.

Maybe a fiery guy like Ray Emery could breath some life into the Isles.

He needs to find someone else if he has no plans on signing Nabby and believe me I'm not a huge fan of that idea either, if it's Emery so be it.

Don't they already carry the Devils? Lots of games on the same night not sure how that can work out?
- Vukota

I heard they could put one team on FM and one on AM...they are going to do it when football starts Giants and Mets...

I'm still feeling good. I like our team and I feel Snow should just do some minor tinkering. Snow doesn't have to do much but I'm not going to lie I'm having some concerns if he can do that "much". I said it yesterday and I'll say it again for the last time I promise but I just don't want to be in our usual spot when the music stops playing. I'm sick of being that team

Its only natural to be a little anxious this time of year after so many past disappointments.

Dont get to high thinking we make a big splash and dont get to low expecting that we do nothing.

Stay even keel Capt and no matter what Snow does you'll rite the ship.

so your prediction is if nabby walks the isles wont be getting anyone in a better situation than him?
- LetsGoIsles

We are the NY Islanders. Free agents aren't breaking down the door to play here.
If they wanted Nabby back, without risk, why not pay a little more and get the deal done? Garth isn't the type to negotiate in bad faith, so if he was trying to sign him, I have to believe that they want him back. Is that a bad assumption?

Why leave the door open for problems? No, I do not believe Garth can find a better replacement, given his history. This isn't a role player or 2nd line guy. This is our goaltender. Pretty important position on the team.

When the isles move to Brooklyn to they're probably going to have priority over devs on MSG

Losing the deal? We had to get to the cap floor. This got us there. It cost us NOTHING to do so. I'm not saying I liked it but it's hard to say he 'lost' when all he did was get an imaginery number added to the cap at no cost.
As for Nabby, we don't even know what the demands were let alone the circumstances of his departure. Frankly after that playoff series, I really would have preferred we didn't bring him back. You can't determine that every non-deal is a 'fail' since sometimes it's an addition by subtraction issue. I don't know if we'll throw 'big money' around, I don't think we need to, but I do expect an upgrade at goaltender. Considering it's on June 28 and we're over a week away from free agency starting, I'm not going to start complaining yet.

Wow.
You've missed the entire point.
I guess I have to explain it all out for you. I'll type slowly so you might keep up.

Its easier to add $$$ than subtract it.
Why would we do Boston a favor if there wasn't added incentive for US????

Why doesn't Garth play by the book(shocker: he was accused of cheating his whole career with pads too big) and SPEND the $42mil on players to field the BEST team and get to the floor with talent instead of tricky bookkeeping??? How much could $5Million in talent have improved this team????? He's stated repeatedly that he will improve the team in any way, if he can - AND that Charles has NEVER said no to him when he asked for $$$ to offer a player. So why acquire Thomas to get to the floor???? BECAUSE HE CANT F'IN GET A DECENT FREE AGENT TO SIGN BECAUSE THEY ALL THINK HIM, WANG AND CAPPY ARE A JOKE! Is that a clear enough explanation for you?

I think you just like contradicting my posts. Your arguments are all weak and speculative. You don't know any more than I do about what motivates Garth to the decisions he makes. And you for some reason give him the benefit of the doubt at every turn. I'm looking down the road pal and from where I'm standing it's a big gray area. How gray? Charcoal.

Same here. There will be plenty of time and company if the Isles have a bad offseason. I'm just looking for solid moves nothing huge. The Nets working on a Garnett deal makes you wonder if these big moves will happen for the Isles in Brooklyn. I'm not a big Basketball fan, still makes you take notice.

Strome is still a prospect, where Reimer is a proven commodity. Where else are you going to find a 24 year old starting goaltender? Strome may very well be a very good player, but he plays behind JT.

And yours aren't? Fact is you've been peeing your Vanity Fairs ever since a few of us mentioned you having a one-track mind (if we can call it that) that only seems to function on two speeds...attack Garth and attack someone who doesn't attack him with you. The only thing that works for you is whatever path leads to the ultimate of cynical views on Snow. Hell, I've said all year that I'd score Garth's overall job as a "C". At least I'm giving him a fair evaluation. Your evaluations are like playing the six degrees of Garth Snow, which constantly ends with the same conclusion.

I'm going to put this in small and simple words so you can understand (you may want to get someone to read this to you), the Islanders needed to get to the cap FAST due to the Viz situation. $5 million players don't just fall off trees. You can't just pick up the phone and say "Hey, I've got to make a trade for a marquee player NOW otherwise this chick JMO is going to continue to type blistering negative reviews about me online". Both teams did eachother a favor. Big deal. The Isles had to get to the cap floor FAST and found a way to do it without giving up a single thing. If you really think Charles has given Snow the green light to spend whatever he wants than you should get your mother to use less intense chemicals on the windows you've been licking. This team loses $16million annually. They're treading water until 2015. Your GM has managed, despite having the worst GM's position in hockey, to build this team through the draft and waiver wire and get them into the playoffs.

He has said he'd improve the team but "Not at the expense of our prospects". Meanwhile you once again SPECULATE as to the reason why Free Agents haven't signed here. All points lead to Snow. You're like friggin' Ray Finkle!

You gripe about not trading Thomas' rights without even taking the 10 seconds to do a google search and educate yourself on why that wouldn't make sense...yet you still write 'FAIL'.

The jury is still out on Garth. He's not exactly had an even playing field to operate on over the years but the stadium issue is out of the way now. Wang will finally start spending in 2015. Free agents should have taken notice of Tavares and company and be more interested. Yet even if they manage to win a cup in 3-4 years, you'll proclaim it should of been here sooner. It's laughable. 100,000 sperm and you were the fastest? WOW.

Your officially the second person who's pi$$ed me off enough to insult. Kencan was the other and frankly I see little difference between either of you at this point.

We potentially have three of them at the same age. Strome will be a top six forward. It's a lot easier to find a starting goaltender than a player of Strome's caliber. Not to mention, you may want to keep Riemer since there's no guarantee the prospect goaltender you traded for will pan out under more than 15 games a season.

Definitely. IMO, if this team doesn't make the playoffs this year, that's it for Snow. I think in many areas he's done well (draft and waiver) but there have been enough bad decisions like Rolston, Pandolfo, losing PA without a trade and Reasoner to keep him from getting glowing reviews. He now has a team that only needs 2-3 players to make them a formidable playoff opponent. Can he do it? I hope so.
