You're a goalie...shouldnt matter about the coach, you have 1 job, stop the puck!!!! I played net and not once ever cared who my coach was, obviously pro would be a lot different...but come on...you're goalie........you have literally ONE job!!! lol
- LeafsFan1205

Not just attitudes colliding but systems as well, Philly's wasn't very defensive while Eakins generally are. Marlies rolled 3 different goalies in the AHL and all delivered above average results for the league. 1-2 might be pretty good goalies, but all 3? I'm chalking that up to good defensive system.

A proven player that could possibly steal us 4 games that Khabby couldn't...

But (frank) it lets sign someone who is media friendly who is alright.

- Pilgor09

Media friendly? they don't get paid to be media friendly and for that we have Gagner, Ebs and even Dubey with his giant smile of "oh yeah I lost us another one but that is just part of my development"!

Is Sean Burke still the goalie coach in Phoenix? If so... tell Eakins (or better yet Ingrid) to get the recruiting talks going. He could be Dubie's Mr Miagi.

I don't believe you are an Oilers fan. The things you say just don't add up.

Says the guy who doesn't want to add a proven starter cause he speaks his mind.

Yeah (frank) me for trying to give you guys reasons as to why he'd make the team better.

I wish we had landed Raanta, MacT even said that it came down between us and Chicago but that we hadn't started the process early enough!!
- lovin

I'm happy we signed Raanta, there's no guarantee he'll be our back-up but he will be an option.

Yup.

Better than Khabby.

- Pilgor09

Hell yes. I think there could be stretches where he outplays Dubnyk - though I'm still one that perhaps underrates Dubey.

Still doubt he signs in the chills though.

You put Bryz behind a solid defensive system that limits odd man rushes and gives him good looks at the puck, he will be fine.

Regardless, defensive system or not. You have ONE job. And you get the big bucks because you're relied on to stop most odd man rushes and/or breakaways. If a team had 0 faith in your ability in those situations, then theres a spot on the bench for you or even a nicer view (depending on who you ask) in the press box.

I think he'll get 10 offers from other teams who will sign him around 2-3 million for a couple years.

Still think they'll look at Khubodin and even Harding.

Listening to MacT talk about Ilya yesterday and it wasn't the same as Clutterbuck. With Clutterbuck it was "ya that's what we want to get on this team", Ilya was more " I need to check with our staff and see if there is a fit". I mean Ilya is what he is at this point. Not like he's some sort of tweener ready to become an everyday NHLer.

And if you're upset, mad, stressed, whatever, cuz your team does have a strong defensive system, then obviously you lack confidence, and when most goalies lack confidence then they let in a lot of softies.

A good defensive system obviously helps, there is no argument there.

I was hoping to get Bernier or Reimer to backup for Dubnyk.
- Al Hacker

Yep. That sucked. I know Bernier could be over-Schneider-hyped but I wanted that risk.

Though Frattin is a good player + Scrivens AND a 2nd in a deep draft.

Not too shabby for the Kings either.

What risk is there?

He plays like a below average starter or goes back to his Phoenix days. While only getting paid 3 million bucks.

Low risk high reward.

What sucked for me is that Scrivens went to LA. I wanted to try snag him.
