If he reverts to the Bickell I've seen throughout the years, it doesn't matter about his ability or potential. I've seen Bickell regularly walk the dog on most nights. Bickell knew this time when his contract was up, he had to preform to earn. That's what he's done this season and in the playoffs.

The question is if he keeps up the level of effort he did this season, or does he rest on the laurels of this past season or does he revert to showing up on the ice, standing around with his thumb up his ass and just collect an inflated paycheck?

"You got to ask yourself, Do I feel lucky?" Problem I see is there's isn't a replacement player ready to step in yet. So sign the Bick if possible.

So do you think Q gets forced out now for mishandling pretty much everyone on the team?

Leaving all the signing and trade work to the Front office
After delivering a lineup that wins the cup again they seem to have it handled

Subban is looking like a steal for the Habs at under 3 million

This is what makes me nervous as well.....if they are going to give him a huge chunk a change he better not play like a pillow.

That's the big question, but if he plays solid hockey during the reg. sked and does what he did again in the playoffs...i'll be happy with that.

What a phuck'n playoff by 29...the last part on a bum knee.

- philco28

Assuming Bickell gets paid...at what point does he equal the value of his contract? I know there are several factors that go into this, but enlighten me for a minute. I realize points aren't everything, but let's face it...that's how he'll be judged.

At $3.5M+
- If he gets top line minutes with Toews and Kane = 40-50 points?
- 3rd line minutes w/Shaw = 30-40 points?

At $2.5-3.5M
- Top line minutes = 30-35 points
- Checking line = 25-35

I dvr'd the game and intend to watch it again. I had to ride with my boss' boss on Tuesday. She's fine but it certainly limited my intake of celebratory beverages that evening.

Enjoy the dog walk!

I love you guys, you know that, right?

I'm just concerned that if he gets his big money and ends up being the Bickell of old it's going to screw the team and the cap. I hope I'm dead wrong about him.

I've seen enough of Bickell and his bullsh!t in order to question his one good season, that's all.

I like your salary/production projections Burgy

I'd be happy if delivers 30-50 points (if given top line minutes for large stretches) while also delivering 100-150 hits....and brings the same playoff effort he brought....just hope he isn't greedy.

I think it's a combination of legit opportunity to play with Kane and Toews and him maturing as a player. He didn't have the confidence in the past IMO. And this isn't the first year he was playing for a contract. He got a legit opportunity, he was ready, and he produced.

Part of the problem is looking just at his points. If Kane and Toews light it up playing with him... I don't care as much about his numbers. Although I think they will be there.

This... Players like this stick out in the playoffs. And can just as easy not look as important in regular season. You have to have guys like this who play top 6 in the postseason. I would love to see a stat with Kane - Toews playoff games/points playing with Bickell/Buff/Ladd vs everybody else. I bet it's quite telling.

Just heard from a very good source: fasten your seatbelts. The Hawks are trying to move up high in the draft. That could definitely factor in to the Leddy and/or Bolland situations.
- John Jaeckel

JJ, tell me if this one is bull sh it or not, was at johnnies last week,
here's the gist, TT & Leddy & our 1st to the panthers for 2 of the 3 (bugsted, drew shore, matthias plus we get their 1st (2nd over all which Bowman will take seth jones) ???????????? that sounds intriguing??????

Bickell +11 in the playoffs, +12 in the reg. season and RozyWALL +9 in the playoffs

Well, as I said, there are other factors to consider than points. But you know people will be up his ass if he's playing with Toews and Kane and ends the season w/20 points, regardless what they do.

In my mind, I don't care. I see the value of someone who's in the trenches doing the dirty work. Like Toews in Game 4, phucking stuff up at the top of the crease all game.

If Bicks can pot 10-15 goals, 15-20 assists playing with those guys, tally 120-150 hits, and perhaps they park his fat ass in front of the Goalie on the PP...I think that will be worth his contract.

The problem is that we're going to cry if he's not signed. And likely cry when they overpay. At what point is he 'worth it'?
