You people are (frank)ing ridiculous.
- TommyDeVito

And the talk on the Ottawa thread today is about a trade for Hossa.

Your point?

What is Hockey Buzz about again?

Not saying it's right but there is a precedent of the Hawks doing this...

I can't disagree with that.

1) Either player will be in the NHL by 2014.

regardless, it's irrelevant, because Florida is stacked with young studs and could trade some much worse prospects than the 2nd overall pick for a better package than what's being offered here in 2) a B+ prospect, third line center, and a second pairing defenceman.

Hell, he could sign one of those pieces (3LC), trade for another with one of his many prosects (2LD), and still have a better prospect out of the #2.

Just a silly discussion.

- TommyDeVito

1) You could be right. You could be wrong.

2) You talking about Teravainen? He is better than a B+ prospect, chief. Otherwise, you are likely right, it's not enough.

Let me share with you—from an impeccable source—Tallon has been sniffing around Teravainen for a while. He goes way back with Bolland, originally drafted him, signed him to his present deal. I have heard the Hawks would like to move way up (as obviously would most teams) and that Tallon is listening (and his price is very high). I can see the Hawks doing some kind of deal with FL for a variety of reasons, although the likelihood of the Hawks getting into the top 5-10 is not great. Never know theough.

It's called Hockey Buzz not Hockey Worship. If you're looking to erect a monument to the infallible management team you should go to Ian's thread. Gillis never makes a bad decision there.

This roster proved all the critics wrong but even the FO admits it can get better.

- tredbrta

He still thinks Gillis is trading Luongo for a boatload of prospects and/or draft picks. I don't know who is more delusional, Gillis or the blogger.

You may have saved me...Philco. You may have just saved me......

Imagine if the trade Bolland, and I stop listening to the talking heads....I may have to log in with a different name...

I have to agree with Phil. I employed the same strategy starting around Game 3 of Detroit series. I pretty much avoided most media outlets, print or television, and came here for the level-headed commentary

If you think we're that bad, you obviously haven't been over to Esplen's thread yet. That's the epitome of ridiculousness.

I think it's 75-25 Bolland gets dealt. They need the cap room, period.

Give this a rest man. Where's Kane going to get sizeable endorsement money in Buffalo - from Momma Peccarros Used Car Dealership or Top's Friendly Markets? Buffalo is a broken down small town half the size of Winnipeg.

The kid is close to a legend in a big market U.S. city and he's going to head back to downtown Tonawanda in his prime? Maybe when he's 35 but not before that.

And Regier has never built anything, even with Leggo blocks. What he's good at is trading players for draft picks.

- RickJ

Don't believe there is not concern about this in the FO. Agreed on Regier but he has deep pockets behind him. And the ad money in Chicago is not what it used to be. Particularly when you are sharing it with numerous other teammates.

I swear they had me pining for Peni$ McGuire and the aimless meanderings of Doc; couldn't get NBC for game 6 because of the Detroit fireworks (stupid) and was forced to watch/listen to the CBC broadcast.

They were awful. On Toews goal: pretty much no credit to Toews but the crew spent the entire next few minutes bemoaning the incorrect call on a hand pass that didn't happen so the puck was dropped outside the Hawk zone. Thought I was watching the Boston Comcast feed; I bet they were more impartial.

- HawkintheD

that's when know thing have gone south if you're pining for those two.

And yeah..the CBC twats were crying about the hand pass forever. And now so is Don Cherry

I am reversed with you on this

I think it's 90% Bolly gets dealt
And <75% Bickell returns

I have no sources at all (although I did wave at a Blackhawks fan on I-495 not long ago), just my hunch and opinion.

No the allegations of him beating his wife began when he was a player.....my father used to tell me stories of the old man wirtz bailing him out of jail and there were even articles in the paper. Bobby Hull is a piece of crap. OJ Simpson was just a wife beater before he actually killed his ex wife.....so the comparison is fair.
- UnnamedSource

Well, I'll say we have to disagree and leave this one lie. FWIW, I obviously do not condone wife beating and think they should get their turn to be bullied in prison for a while, but your comparison is completely unfair. I could go to an extreme, too, and say that O.J. was just a professional athlete before he killed his wife, so it's "fair" to compare him to every other professional athlete.

We are not adding a 4/mill per winger.

Maybe so, but if we resign Bickell that's the excess money right there.

If the Hawks go for a 'big splash" it will be for a center or maybe a puck moving d-man (if Leddy is part of some sort of trade). Our weakness is the powerplay and 2nd line center, NOT another high priced winger.

So while my statement about Simmonds may be absolute and that's SO BAD there is actual logic behind it.

Bolland taking the cup before Hossa and the way he carried himself with it.... really looked as if he was upset in a way.

I don't recall Bolly being a rah-rah guy so I wouldn't read anything into how he was carrying the cup around. lol.

I also seriously doubt the Hawks had told Bolland ANYTHING about their future plans...why screw with a guy's mind during the Stanley Cup finals.

Bolly is just a laid back guy.

I have a hunch Tallon is going to take Drouin. I know nobody is saying that.... but Tallon was here when we took Kane. Drouin can be that kind of player/marketing piece/star because of his style/skillset. Will be a very interesting weekend.

And I agree with your earlier post. All of these teams are fielding calls and offers. Whether they plan on keeping the pick or not. You never know when someone is going to plop down an offer that's too hard to pass up.

This sounds familiar....

"One of his biggest attributes is his hockey sense, he reads and understands the game at a level higher then most players his age,” said International Scouting Services. “He has the ability to beat a defenseman one-on- one and make them look like they were standing still. It looks like at times that the puck is attached to his stick with a string because he can move in any directions with the puck and not lose speed. He possesses an elite shot. He can create plays off his vision and creativity which gives him dangerous options”

When you watch some of the highlights of Drouin, you are stunned that he can move that quickly, has hands that good, and doesn't lose the puck. But then you are even more impressed that the moves are not made with the thought of shooting the puck, they are made with the thought of passing the puck. While it’s one thing to pull off those moves with your eyes fixed on the net, it’s quite another to do it and still be able to see your teammate and the defenders around him
