I will say this, think I've defended Bryz in a year and a half more than I did hextall from '87 to like 99

Yup.

I still think he can be a good goalie, but who knows if it'll be in the NHL?

Ah, thanks. If Lu is bought out he's my first choice, followed by Emery, then Khudobin. I'm weary of a trade for Hiller/Halak, cost may be too steep.

CBO period ends at 5 on the 5th yeah?

Yeah; I should be more precise. I was thinking they'd do something quickly, because I just don't think any team's circumstances are changing the longer they drag this out. If anything, all you're doing is leaving your Hockey Operations department in more of a bind, while other franchises could look to make moves based on what is available.

Didn't mean to make it sound like Vancouver has to do something today; just honestly thought they would as soon as the finals were over.

I'd kick the tires on several options. There's a lot of pros and cons for all of them.

The personality and perception may write him a ticket out of town. Cechmanek was a Vezina finalist and won the Jennings.

Flyers might be in deep trouble if they don't sign Emery or Mike Smith. Theodore would be cheap if he came, so hopefully they could spend that money they don't use on a goaltender, somewhere else. The free agent goalie list isn't deep this year. Holmer should trade for Emery's rights.

2 wrongs dont make a right

That's a fallacy. Multiply or divided two negatives to make a positive. Math is the absolute language of the the universe, thus two wrongs do make a right

Why do the flyers even bother with the russians? Can we stop now please? Flyers and Russians. With one or two exceptions, just doesn't work

if the Flyers have two goalies that catch with the wrong hand, i'll finally start calling for Holmgren to be canned.

Rumor is that the Preds will not qualify Jonathon Blum...I'd definitely kick the tires there.

I'll bring this up again cause it got no response last night
Would anyone be opposed to the Flyers trying to lure a great young goalie away from the KHL and trying to find another Bobrovsky? Lars Haugen and Stanislav Galimov are both 26 and 25 years old. This past season, they both put up slightly better numbers than Bob put up in the KHL in almost the same number of games. Think these guys could be options?

First thing that came to mind was a 3rd. I don't know if that's fair or not, but he could be a solid player.

Especially since he's a defenseman that Nashville developed

I'd be open to all avenues...but remember, Bob played on a horrible KHL team. Not sure if Galimov or Haugen play on better teams that helped their numbers.

Restricted free agent in a season where the cap is dropping. Big difference in Coburn who was going to be UFA and Meszaros, who's cap hit is smaller than $4.25mm

He called after Foppa had been signed, at the time that move had put them over the cap. JR called into WIP and was so gracious, basically saying Foppa and not him could put us over the top... It was very classy of him. The cap was $54 mil or so...
