Who cares where Couture was drafted? He has exceeded expectations IMO, but miles and miles.

Logan Couture has some serious issues to deal with in his draft year and if he had been totally fit he would have gone much higher. At one point he was considered to be in the top three of that draft year. That being said Eberle is still better in my opinion. Can you imagine if Eberle had Jumbo Joe feeding him on the pp along with Marleau, Boyle and Pavelski.

Seems like MacT is pretty high on Nurse, do you think there's much of a chance he takes Nichuskin over Nurse if they are both available at this point?

Nuge (injury-bodily, won't start the season)
Gags (if he signs)
Horcoff (if he's not bought out or traded)
Belanger (yuck, but maybe our 2C, like it or not)
Lander (more potential than Crosby, Malkin and Stamkos combined, but sucks in the NHL)
Arcobello (AHL 1C who played in two periods of Oil hockey before getting benched (how bad do you need to bo to get benched by the Oil?)

I am well aware of the dire situation we are in at Center. Well aware. Mac T had better get this spot filled, in fact I think it should be his top priority. Hopefully free agency can bring us Boyd Gordon. I dont want Bozak. Maybe, he can get lucky with the Hemsky trade,though I'm not holding my breath.I have no idea. I just think Belanger has failed to deliver on his reputation in each of the 2 years he has been here.
If the best we can muster is Belanger in any of the top 3 C spots on opening night I will do more than just throw up a bit in my mouth.

They have depth at Center but two of them are aging. Couture/Pavelski is the future #1/2 of the team. Its harder to find centers versus wingers.

eberle played 3rd toughest minutes among EDM Fs this year. 1st line opposition. Soft minutes and high SH% were the reason for his high production in 2012. In 2013 he proved he was a 1RW and a good one

i like ebs. he scores some beauties and has some silky hands. but i do think couture is an undoubtedly better all around player.

I have favourite players all over the NHL despite Philly being my team since 1967. I had a chance at a pro career with the Rangers in 1970 but chose a career that paid more at that time and it turned out to be the right choice as I retired early and played beer hockey till 60 with guys half my age. I don't even believe these stories. I saw him at the HNIC play on tournament last year, and he was signing stuff for everybody and was full smiles (no matter the attractiveness of the moms).

I'd absolutely do Eberle for Couture. Wouldn't do Eberle+7th for couture. Doesn't make sense for both teams

I believe the Oilers would play it safe and take a big strong dman who is almost a sure thing. I think Nurse is a poor mans Seth Jones and that is not a bad thing. Nurse has an outstanding outlook and oozes confidence. He can scrap with the best of them and considering all the small forwards he would be a great addition.
The Russian could be a superstar but he could be a royal pain, tough call really.
