Flyers finally get that franchise goalie they've been so desperate for while also getting a top 6 winger in Raymond.
Canucks get some good depth in Simmonds and Couturier. This is the type of trade I can see happening.

Anyone care to mention who holds the record for longest shutout streak for a Flyers' goaltender? It wasnt as bad as everyone makes it seem he was just overpaid and this season was overplayed

The Flames are more desperate...

goaltending is not in any way stable but it should be last on their list of priorities anyway

drafting Fucale or giving up assets for a goalie would be two of the easiest ways to piss me off

I beg to differ. I believe that Timonen, although old, has proven himself as an outstanding defenseman
- flyguys96

He has over his career. He wasn't his old self last year but Father Time catches up to everyone. I saw he's been hinting this is probably his last year before retirement.

"Homer doesn't lie"

ALL THAT GUY DOES IS LIE!

Bryzgalov won't be bought out, Carter & Richards won't be traded...

I know GMs don't wanna tip their hand,
And that's completely understandable...

But let's not act like they are giving us the whole truth either

Luongo not being an option "right now" could just mean he doesn't wanna give up what they are asking in return, and if they lower the cost... Or take on some of the cap hit... Or buy him out... Or that they actually aren't interested regardless...
Could be any of those

highly doubt there's any trade value left to Luongo. Toronto wouldn't give up two 2nds and Scrivens for him at the deadline because they knew they were one of the only team serious about getting him, and now they're out of it

That would surprise me, he is almost 40. That being said, over the years he has been the most consistent and respectable Flyer in the organization. He has been one of my favorite flyers for a long time. The day he retires will be a sad day in Philadelphia.

PHILADELPHIA IS LOOKING FOR A GOALTENDER (E(frank)INGAMILLION)

I stand by my earlier comment about waivers. If I owned the canucks and gillis asked for 64 million dollar check I d be telling him try waivers first you moron. Yes he might get bought out but you try option first. The initial problem was gillis asking to much when he wanted Bozak and Kadri well if he wants nothing you evaluate how long will loungo play before retiring and its not as bad of a contract. If he peforms like the last too years he's a great goalie for a franchise with money provided no assets go the other way. Besides over time the cap hit is the problem not the money its backdiving a lot of teams aren't near the ceiling. I don't see lounga being bought out for the same reason I don't see lecavilier owners other than the brain trust in philly don't cut checks like that. That comment comes from Doug Maclean I think he knows better then people on this site
