Some people shouldn't be allowed to speak in public as their ignorance becomes contagious.
Mason was alright in '13, but never more than alright. On any given night you bank on at least one soft goal being given up. - vertigo1061
I'm just kidding with you...I really think Mason took the move to Philly as a wake up call and surprised the hell out of himself and lots of people...He really looked damn sharp and focused in the games he played with the Flyers...I'm all in on Mason for next season... |

Phaneuf was offered to all 30 teams by Nonis a few days ago, MLSE blames he and Reimer for choking in the final ten minutes. Phaneuf, for not muscling out Chara any way possible in front of the net. And Reimer for his typical choke act.
Look for Phaneuf and Reimer to be hitting the road unless nobody wants either of them. Only thing we might get for Phaneuf, is a salary swap of upcoming ufa's, Stastny for Phaneuf, with maybe a third coming back. Overpaid for overpaid.
Reimer? Bag of pucks that can stop a shot in a shootout. - organicsteroid
Reimer was average in the shootout. None of the leaf players could score a goal |

I don't think Mason played badly this year, but maybe I'm also comparing to the way Bob played. It's hard to make that comparison when one guy had a Vezina season. Mason CAN be a starting goaltender, but I'm not sure if now is the time. Mentoring for a season under somebody might be good for him. |

That's why I'd love to see the Flyers get someone like Nabby or Lou for a couple of years... |

That trade doesn't look so bad now, does it?
Phaneuf- most often located next to the post, fishing out a puck in the net.
Awful player once Cuthbert came into his realm and he was on the cover of NHL 09.
Reimer would be a decent backup. Phaneuf is only traded if they eat some salary. I'd take him back if the Leafs picked up 50%. He is a #4 Dman all the way. |

Wow am I the only one who remembers, Leafs lost like six shootouts this season, NOT due to Reimer. He kept them in the shootouts. It was the fault of the Leaf shooters who couldn't hit the side of a barn. Reimer stole game 5, 6 & most of 7. Not his fault, Dion & the rest of the players in front of him froze like a deer in headlights. Dion blew game 4 in OT when he over played the puck causing Krecji to skate up ice & score. Dion also never touched Chara on the game 7 tying goal. I have no problem blaming Dion but not fair to pin it on Reimer. He did all he could & got no help. |

Was that the game he pinched for a check and the Bruins scored on the other end? What an awful boneheaded move that was.
And, he can't hit the broad side of a barn with his slapshot.
If he had more than 1 yr on his contract, I'd say buy him out. Minus well hang with him for this yr though as you aren't getting anything back from a trade. Give him no more than 16min a game.
The Bernier trade was great, and will pay huge dividends for Leafland. |

Snider's (frank)ing deep pockets. Now we'll sign Luongo when he gets bought out and with the addition of Streit and another year for the young forward group to develop this team will be a contender again. |
