I agree with everything you say in reference to Bryz...Lou's on a totally different level than Bryz...The only reason he's not on another team right now is the length of that contract...Not the $ part...
- Flyfreaky

The biggest issue for both of them was the length of the contracts. If they are both bought out, I see their situations very similar going forward.

Find a comfortable place to play. Someone who has a good chance of winning. Or they can just go for more money. It is up to them.

Well, last Monday I announced that Torts would be officially introduced as coach today. I was right. Looks like my friend on the inside is now a trusted source. He told me yesterday that everyone is going to be shocked at the Luongo deal that comes down in the next 72 hours. Can't wait to see all of you eat crow. That's an expression that basically means you'll eat your words cause you're wrong. Don't mind me, English minor so I appreciate similes like that.

Since the CBJ are moving east next year I hope you guys roll Mason out there. Your comment about the CBJ not being the easiest to play behind doesn't seem relevant either. Our group of d-men is actually pretty good, and has depth. Seemed to be good enough for Bob this year.

Like I said, a change in team is what Mason needed. He didn't have confidence there and the fans didn't have confidence in him. Since he was traded to Philadelphia he has a .944 SV% and 1.90 GAA. He has found his confidence and I believe that this kind of play will roll over into next season. Even if it was only 7 games

Come on man, who would you rather have, Lou or Bryz? That's a no brainer...

He was awesome in Philly...Had some great work with the goalie coach...If I had to live in Columbus for 2 years I'd be in a mental ward as well...

Yeah, it is a no brainer. Lou for sure. That doesn't change the fact that they both should take small deals for 1-2 years and try to clean up their image. It will go a long way to fans to play for next to nothing since they already took their payday and didn't have to work for most of it.

That's the problem, too many teams in need of good goaltending will drive that price up immediately...I can't see either guy saying, "hmmmmmmmmmm, Philly's offering me 5.5m per but I really should only ask for 2.5"....

Sounds like dominoes

This whole Luongo discussion is just because Iginla no longer matters and Sundin is retired. Buyout or stay....sooooo exciting.

Clean up his image? What does Luongo have that needs to be cleaned up?
All the guy does is win and he's done it with grace and class. So you even watch hockey?

I think Mason will be good for you guys next yr.
If you get a Defenseman.
Luongo is old and is not coming there.

In an unrelated story, Foppa has been trying out new medicine to help with his chronic foot problem. He's been skating regularly for the past month or so.

A goalie without a team, a team without a goalie, seems like a pefect fit, Lu & Philly. Will it be a good match? Well Philly is known as the goalie killer but Lu is awesome. Perhaps Lu can break the chain of hexed goalies in Philly.

Some people shouldn't be allowed to speak in public as their ignorance becomes contagious.

Mason was alright in '13, but never more than alright. On any given night you bank on at least one soft goal being given up.

Well Lu is amazing. If he was a Leaf this season, he wouldn't have let a 4-1 lead in game 7 slip away. Not that I put the blame on Reimer cause there are bigger culprits than him on that dreadful night, but Lu would have found a way for the Leafs to have somehow hung on.

Phaneuf was offered to all 30 teams by Nonis a few days ago, MLSE blames he and Reimer for choking in the final ten minutes. Phaneuf, for not muscling out Chara any way possible in front of the net. And Reimer for his typical choke act.

Look for Phaneuf and Reimer to be hitting the road unless nobody wants either of them. Only thing we might get for Phaneuf, is a salary swap of upcoming ufa's, Stastny for Phaneuf, with maybe a third coming back. Overpaid for overpaid.

Reimer? Bag of pucks that can stop a shot in a shootout.
