Carle cost $5.5 for 6 years when the Flyers didn't have compliance buyouts available. Streit is older, but as has been pointed out Carle has almost 900 more minutes in the NHL. Much more mileage.

10065 to 10,940

- jstross

streit played ~350 pro gms before that. carle's a better plyr and would have been a better move.

ohh man you really are this nice.

don't let the buzzards in here get you down, we'll cheer together.

Ha! Yeah. I can be an a-hole at times, but really, I do believe that his particular franchise does everything possible to win. They'll do anything.

I mean, let's be honest here. Totally honest.

None of us will be surprised if Roberto Luongo is here next week. Not a single one of us.

If Campbell gets bought out there's nothing that says they still couldn't sign him.
- jstross

Me thinks Edmonton would be quicker to the draw on that one.

I can't tell which shocks me: everything the Flyers do, or nothing the Flyers do. But it's one of them. Eh, could be worse. We could be Bills fans.

Whoever we draft better be a puck moving offensive defenseman. It seems like we have everything else at times. We have such an impressive young group. Even Zac Rinaldo blows me away.

I'm not against that move. Have to keep the years and money at a respectable level.

I just don't think Carle is that much better on offense that Streit so tying up 2 extra years at a higher contract number when their cap was much tighter doesn't seem like a no brainer to me.

If Streit has any shot at all, that's one advantage over Carle.

k, davies, injury is around 2:30 here

still might be my fav youtube video of all time

- Crimsoninja

Great video. Makes me miss Richards and Pronger, and I want them to sign Gags now that Briere and Bryz are gone.

The thing that I'm most surprised about is the fact that Rask wasn't traded or shipped back to Europe after that collapse. To imagine an organization being able to look long-term and have faith in a young goalie is something I just don't understand. Rask should be washing dishes or running ice fishing trips in Finland, not playing hockey. Silly Boston.

carle's better defensively, no question. streit does a couple things well, but fairly one dimensional. def a better shooter than carle, though.

Nothing shocks me anymore. Chris Gratton getting gonged was probably the last time I was totally shocked, with Richards/Carter a close second...though that didn't last as long as it should've, because by then you just know that the higher the embarrassment level, the faster they move.

I mean, about Bryzgalov...he'd still be here if he kept his mouth closed. And maybe he knew that if he kept talking, he'd get the gate.

But when you embarrass the team..they move.
