Personally, my gut is that Mason is going to turn into a solid starter and soon if the team D improves. If that's the plan, great, but I'd like a different and more experienced backup. I also don't think patience is a motto that the org uses. They were going to trade for Bernier, and I think now they'l sign Luongo and go for it all next year.

Mason will have a good year and Homer will sign him to a 6 year contract

I don't want Luongo here, and I don't think he'd even come.
- mochoson

I do want him here, but I think it would be 50/50 if he came.. he's not as bad as Vancouver fans make him out to be.

On the flip side.....if Randy Miller is to be believed on his story of Bryz wanting the Flyers to fire Lavy......I guess I kind of agreed with Bryz on that one. I wanted Lavy gone early on this season too.

@ToddCordell Where do the #Flyers go from here? Roberto Luongo? Jonas Hiller? Jaroslav Halak? Veteran free agent? Lots of options.

I feel like Halak would be relatively cheap, no? I'd be ok with that.

Randy Miller is not doing himself any favors, I would think, by putting that stuff out there like that.

If you were a player, would you trust Miller at this point?

Bryz buyout is largest in NHL history, more than Yashin.

@RandyJMiller And #Flyers fans, you might as well know this: Bryz ripped fans to me, ripped his coach and ripped other members of media

If he hung up on him twice, when did he do this?

I'd be fine with Luongo, depending on the price tag.

Also: He's not coming here to be the rare unicorn in Flyers history that is the "Franchise goaltender". I think if Luongo came here, the lowered expectations (he'd probably trade starts with Mason) might help.

You could hear bits and pieces of words between each hang up. Two hang ups is enough for Randy J to know what he was saying.

I don't see the point in that. We could be spending the money were saving in other areas.

I'd be more interested in bringing Gagne back and/or signing a guy like Ryan Jones. I also wouldn't mind exploring FA for a depth defensemen because quite frankly, Gervais is garbage IMO. Sign a new 7th defensemen and keep Lauridsen and everyone else who was on our blue-line carousal from the Phantoms this year down on the farm.

I also wouldn't mind signing someone like Boyd Gordon or inviting a guy like Dave Steckel to camp on a try-out.

All thing's I'd rather explore than Luongo.

Bryzgalov will be making 1.6 million from the Flyers in 2027 when he's 45.
- PLindbergh31

Chemmy ‏@felixpotvin 36s
Bryzgalov got paid $16.5M in salary by Philly for the past two seasons, plus $23M for the buyout for a total of $39.5M to play 110GP.

$16,653 per save.
