Are we ever going to address defense? We move up to 1st overall you take Jones. End of story. If we can't trade for stud defenseman, and we can't sign them, we need to draft them.

IMO.

I'd trade Giroux for Weber and their 1st. As long as we kept our first.

This explains why you and I get along so well Jsaq. Of course I don't have kids and the fiancee enjoys hockey too. But the drinking beer and screaming at the TV part I'm all over...

Booze and yelling usually signifies Flyers game night at my house too. However I go for the single malt scotch over the beer, I like to get hammered quickly!

They wanted the package to start with Coots and Schenn. They would have wanted picks as well.
- PhillySportsGuy

Again i'm fine with that.

I really hope they don't waste important cap $$ on Luongo. Sign Emery and if Mason doesn't cut it next year, get a goalie next summer. There's no need to go crazy right now.
- BiggE

Honestly, I wouldnt be suprised if they kind of head into everything with that
"back with a vengeance" mood.

They have become a little bit of a laughing stock, and I expect them full well to do everything possible to get this team back on track.

I suppose, I just wish for once they would show some patience. Sometimes the best moves are the ones you don't make.

So you would trade Couturier, Brayden Schenn and 2 first round picks (including this year) for Weber?

With Scottie Upshall and Ville Leino being bought out soon. Do you want either on the team for cheap

Luongo at 3 years 12M wouldn't be a bad deal.

I'm just guessing on numbers but its something to think about if it becomes a realistic option.

Still need to move a defenseman also.

Jones has a lot that I desire, but MacKinnon is a can't miss. Gives you options with other forwards. I dont think Jones will live up to his hype.

Ah yes, those were the days.
I will almost miss taking a shot everytime there was a 2 on 1 rush.
2 shots if Bryz let it go in...

That will happen once Snider is gone. For now that's what we have to live with as fans (go get it now mentality).

that was the plan back then, stop trading picks/youth away and grow from within.

But then snider changed his mind, and its back to win now.

now they cant "win now", so what other choice to they have?

Nope. Big injury risks. Even at low cap hits. Flyers have plenty of those kind of guys already here.

Not really what were looking for. We need good two-way forwards. I would want a strong defensive center who is good on face-offs. Giroux is forced to take too many defensive zone face-offs.

Fair enough. It's a legit concern.
