Yeah it's pretty ignorant how people are pinning the Devils as a rebuild team but that's a topic for another thread...
I would like to see them draft Hunter Shankirirk (or however you spell it). You really can't go wrong with any of the options but I take Shank over all of them just because he can play the wing, which is a department the Devils could definitely shore up on depth-wise. They look set up the middle and are stocked with defensive prospects so if he's available come ninth overall I say take him.
If not then I like Max Domi. |

Apparently there's people saying that the Devils may petition the league to try to regain the lost first round pick. - Kaymondel
Completely reasonable(considering the penalty was ridiculously high), but it won't work. Bettman is too hard headed to admit he was wrong/way too late dealing with these contracts |

They had the option of 2011,2012,this year or next year.
You're going to lose your pick next year. Pretty inconvenient in the middle of the rebuild. Lou had too much pride to give up last years but he should of just bit the bullet - t_leafs21
lololol what in the actual f*$k does that mean? Great analysis from the Leafs fan, a real winner of an organization over there. |

Lindholm played a bit of wing in Sweden I believe. |

Ya I think I saw somewhere that in the SEL he played more wing, but for the national team he was a centre or vice-versa |

For those of you big on domi. At 9? I'm from london where he plays junior. The kid has potential he can take score at will sometimes and is a Tasmanian devil. But Bo horvat. That kid can flat out play. Big Center. Ranked higher than domi and is what every team would love. In the london Barrie series horvat gave sheiffle fits. That being said. Horvat prolly goes around 15 and domi prolly could be had late. Both players will be back in london next year though. |

Really hope the Devils can get Hunter Shinkaruk. From what I have read about him very fast skater, not afraid to go to the net even though he is a smaller guy, can either play left wing or center, last years stats in the WHL GP 64, G 37, A 49, P 86. In my mind give this kid a couple years and could be Parise's replacement. I know we need to replace Parise now but its not looking like we are anytime soon. Hunter could be the answer. Possible line in the future Shinkaruk-Loki (if the devils give him another year after next year)- Kovy |

When do they have to forfeit their first rounder for the Kovy contract? - jimmc7722
The Devils will forfeit it next year |

I don't want to "replace Parise"... I want to replace Scott Stevens
We won cups with him... we won a 29th overall pick with Parise.
But since we don't replace... we need to take BPA.
I don't like #9... Lindholm and Monahan are consensus best forwards after the top 4. The rest is a shuffle. Shinkaruk is, himself, around the board, #10 on some, #13 on others, etc. Even Domi is ranked as low as #25 on ISS and is "honourable mention" on McKenzie's list.
Our pick is essentially going to be about as good as 10-20 unless we get a "steal". Hamilton fell to 9th the year we got Larsson... the hope is that we get a steal.
Maybe the Oil and the Sabres go off the board and we get Lindholm at least. |

I went to two Games 3 and 4 of the London/Plymouth Series, and have seen both Horvat and Domi play a few times throughout the year. In Game 3 of that series in particular, Horvat scored two shorties in the first period on the same penalty kill. As you said, he is a big, defensively responsible center, but he has also got some real slick hands. I think Bo Horvat in the mid first round is going to be a steal for someone.
I also really like Domi, he's small but he is magician with the puck, and he his wrist shot is top notch. In that same game, Plymouth came storming back to take a lead in the third period after being down 3-0, and Domi ripped a power play wrister top shelf to tie the game. He's a brash kid, but he's got serious offensive skills and set of ....
Two nice players Horvat and Domi are. |

I voted Lindholm. In most articles I read he is rated higher than Sinkaruk. |

Just curious but in what way is Domi cocky or brash? You and Todd have mentioned it so was just curious. |

I wouldn't mind Horvat at all but I would be hoping to get a more skilled player but at the very least with him we are getting a Madden type player and he was always one of my fav's. nobody has really mentioned how much we have missed him. |

He might be on of the highest payed goalies in hockey history thanks to the flyers. He'll be getting 23 million from the flyers to not play, and I can see him going to the KHL and commanding 10 million a year. I don't know how many teams will actually want him considering his attitude. - rmdevil313
Yeah, I can see him pulling a Jagr/Nabakov. Go to the KHL for a year or two and then return on a comeback tour to finish off his career. |

I don't mean it in a negative way, as I have no idea about the kid's personality except for what I see on the ice. From the way he carries himself, he strikes me as a confident kid, who has probably had to deal with alot of ribbing because of who his father is, and just embraces the whole thing. I certaintly have seen nothing to suggest that he's a Richard. He's just a confident kid, and he's not afraid to express that confidence on the ice. |

No. Who would you even give us for #9 ? and why would we draft a goalie when we have 3 goalie prospects and next to none in the forward department. I really cant wait to see who you offer for the 9th overall pic plus #21 |
