I hope they both play forever, they are both great.

Letang really would have made sense to the Hurricanes for the 5th pick. Them moving to our division changes things.

Pittsburgh needs more than the fifth pick for Letang. That is a start. Carolina has little else really. Unless they want to unload Jeff Skinner as well, I don't see a match even if Carolina really needs a Dman.

Not much on the canes I would want. Ruutus contract is a little much, and skinner isn't really what the pens need. Still think Colorado or Edmonton would be the best trade partner

Anyone thought about Gleason? He's a good d-man and would be perfect for a team looking to win now. Has 3 more years @ $4M. Another Orpik (and some say a little better, not me though).

5th pick+Gleason+something else.

How about Jiri Tlusty? He's been good for 2-3 years now.

Neither do I. He is the second biggest diver in the league behind Couture. But they have little on the farm; we don't need Tlusty since we have three good centers, so the best they have left is Skinner - unless they want to trade Falk, which I can't see happening.

I personally side with bryz here I live in the Philly area and they always treated him like crap. Yes he didn't play well and wasn't derseecing of that contract but they were always all over him. Even this year it was all bryz nobody wants to talk about the defense, or lack there of, they put in front of him.

Edmonton doesn't have a forward prospect worth a poop. Their best prospects are Dman.

That isn't good enough for Colorado. They have a lousy farm system. A mid level prospect isn't good. Downie isn't quality value to me. Colorado should be improved, so that first round pick in 2014 isn't going to be as premium as it is today.

yeah i hate to sound greedy, but these deals arent doing it for me.

The buyout window overlapping the draft is interesting. A team could unexpectedly buy a player out because of a trade putting them in a bad cap spot.
