sooo... on the Rask extension discussions...
If he signs for $6.5M or more long term, B's have issues coming. Bergeron will be 28 yr old UFA next summer
not gonna happen... but
but could see either him or Krejci moving (prolly Krejci)
EDIT: aw (frank)it they'll just move Peverley or Kelly |

Love to (frank) the Bruins over like that. I think the bigger issue this year is that they gave up a first for Old Man Time, and Tyler Seguin is turning out to be Ken Hodge Jr. |

I love the Bruin fans' twitter poopstorm over trading Seguin this offseason, since he's due to be paid 5.75 million next year, and had to be demoted to third-line duty in during their emotionally-driven Cup run this year. - p_zub
Leafs killed in that trade... |

Am I right that the conditional pick for Jagr became a 1st rounder when they made the finals? |

Chara is losing a step, too.
They'll continue to be a good team, but I think their window closed last night. |

It was definitely a huge risk, but Burke knew exactly what he wanted, and did what it took to get Kessel. Kessel's development as an all-round scorer, and his further maturation into a 2-way forward has definitely proven Burke right in this deal so far. |

Dougie Hamilton opens that window up again...
They are going to be contender for the next 3 years easily and probably a lot longer depending on how they age and who they retain...

I just think it's funny that he's now developing a label as a one-dimensional winger who doesn't show up for big games.
It's nice to be able to throw that poop back in Boston's face. |

well let's not go that far... it proves it wasn't as terrible as everyone likes to think, but it still wasn't right given the state of the team at the time. Never will be. Kessel could win back to back Conn Smythe's next 2 years and it still makes it the wrong move at the time...
And I've always been on the side of "it's not as bad as everyone likes to think."

Dougie Hamilton can go a lot of ways in his development...and a Chara-replacement is the least likely of the options. Just doesn't have the frame to be that strong of a presence. He'll likely project more into a Cody Franson-style defenseman. It will be more likely that Boychuck takes over the #1 role in Boston. |
