The only thing Stasny upgrades over Bozak is offense and thats something we don't really need and its questionable anyways since Bozaks numbers have improved in every season that Stastny's have declined. Unless you woke up this morning and believed it was 2008, then Stastny is not the player for the Leafs.

Stastny had a good run with team USA recently and played on the 3rd line majority of the season with the avs... relax.

He did well there, and they don't really have very many PMD.

Before he averaged just 15:25 TOI/G in the playoffs.

Before he was relegated to 3rd pairing ice time in the regular season.

Before he was signed to a contract that has three years left at a cap hit of almost $4 million.

ah thats right.. and I dont think you would have to offer much of anything. Clutterbuck is a RFA, and heatley makes 7.5..it it would cost a late draft pick.. Healtey is negative value

The Player the Leafs should be targeting is Patrick Bergland of the Blues. He is young - 24- talented, hasnt hit his ceiling and answers the number one centre question. The Blues also have 6'5 Finish prospect Jani Hakanpaa and the Leafs could trade Gunnerson and Grabovski to the Blues for Bergland and Hakanpaa.


Both teams would benifit from this trade and the Leafs with Bergland/Kadri/Bozak would be among the deepest teams at centre in hockey.

Bergland is preferable to every name I have heard linked to the Leafs, he has offensive upside, he fits the age group of our team, he can play on any of the three lines, and he has one of the best wrist shots in hockey.

Gagner, but these rumours are idiotic. The Leafs are ok at centre with Grabbo Bozak and Kadri (and Mcclement) but they have one of, if not the absolute worst defense groups in hockey.


So, why would anyone want to trade our best defenseman for a centre we only kind of need?

1 - Phaneuf is the captain because Burke is a twit, he made many mistakes on top of some good moves. Lupul is captain

2.I agree stastny is not the PAG play he was, hes a 55 point player..not a lot I want from him.

3.the fraction Bozak would be is 5/6.6 ..thats not much better, Stast. has much more upside if it worked out
