His glove has never been good and his rebound control is horrible.

And he can't handle the puck.

I'm pretty sure it was you who I was laughing at a few days ago - because you had the audicity to suggest that the Leafs could get Bernier for a package of junk including Frattin and Scrivens.

So if it was you, please consider this my apology.

I find it hard to believe that other teams couldn't put together a better package, although apparently Hextall was really high on Frattin.

Or high on something, evidentally...

- Atomic Wedgie

Other teams not offering more should give you a clear indication that they don't believe Bernier is as good as Nonis. Look at those old men in NJ, they either had nothing LA wanted, or Lou wasn't prepared to give it up for him. Islanders could use him too...

Luckily we have a great back up

Not when all his confidence is gone cause nonis the donkey pushed him back to #2 again.

Stastny could probably be had for much less.

1. He makes 6.6 million, and his stats have been declining every year.

2. The Avs GM is prone to being fleeced.

- ThePresident

That is 2.5 mill for Paul and 4.1 for the Stastny name.

Franson, Gunnar and Fraser do not have contracts yet.
- markmark

They are all RFAs.

No need to worry.

The deadline is training camp. Still plenty of time.

Everyone is tradeable. If someone blows Nonis away with an offer they can have anyone on the roster or in the system. Problem is if Bernier commanded such a price someone would have offered it already. I'm thinking Reimer will be packaged with someone.
- stevecarpetman

i didnt say he wasnt tradable.. i said the leafs prolly arent looking into trading him

We have Rielly coming up, and we cant afford to lose Phaneuf. The guy plays half the game for us and is by far our best D. Gardiner hasn't proven much in the NHL and already has concussion issues. Besides, you need to give to get.
- Holy_Makinaw99

Gardiner was awesome in the bruins series, not sure I would trade him for anything than a bonafide number 1 center. I wouldn't trade him for stats, he could be had for less.

Tell me you are against Phanuef going to COL at least then.
- Holy_Makinaw99

Don't believe its a wise idea to trade Phaneuf, we should be focusing on acquiring a top pairing defenseman for him. Yandle or Letang would be ideal, expensive, but ideal.

It's still a win for Toronto.

We gave up nothing. Scrivens can be replaced by just about anyone or anything.

Frattin just isn't that good - I don't think he'll ever be more than a third liner who constantly frustrates you for not showing more.

And a 2nd rounder - we get to choose the year.

Worst case scenario - we have a better back-up than Scrivens.

That's the worst case.

LA needed a few specific things it looks like. A backup to replace Bernier, cheap players and a team to retain salary so they have some cap flexibility.

doesn't mean other team didnt want him or value him, they just couldnt fit all the puzzle pieces together like Toronto

A MCL sprain and getting ran into make you injury prone?
- Talkshowhost

Since 2006 he's had a broken hand, a torn ligament in his ankle, another ankle injury, a concussion, a neck injury, and an MCL sprain.

I disagree with this. He's a solid player who goes balls out every shift. He will do well in L.A and may develop into a second liner

Man, everyone seems to be pretty down on Reimer. I watched a lot of Leafs games this year ( Thanks CBC) and he certainly deserves a lot of credit for getting the leafs into the playoffs.

Putting up a .924SV% while getting constantly shelled with shots was pretty good.

A lot of teams would love that number, so I'm sure teams will call.
