Good question, do you think Phaneuf wants another similar contract and will someone actually pay it? If the price was right - say 4.5-5mill per season, I don't think it's a question but you know he will be asking for much more!

On your thought about Bozak - no Brainer. If he would sign for 4.5mill or less, for sure you dump Grabovski. I think Bozak will be looking for 5+ though.

if we had a legit top 1 C - yes, id say grabo could be bought out, and i think still it would be a mistake. the guy had 48 bad games, thats it, who gives a poop we made the playoffs because of it. he shouldnt be in that roll though, thats carlyle trying something, it not working, and him realizing it come playoff time...when guess who was flying around out there like a lunatic...grabo.

i agree grabo is over paid, i said it from day one he should have only gotten like 4.5....but hey, at least he plays, gives it hard out there and has produced a lot over the last few seasons...

i aint cutting ties with grabo because he had a bad half season playing with 3rd line players.

check on any centre signed as a UFA.. there are a couple bargains but its mostly in line with the rest of the league

he brings a lot more to this team than people realize, and id be VERY suprised if dion was moved.

not saying its impossible to happen, anything is possible...but dion brings a lot to this team in terms of chewing up minutes on D.

Despite what a lot of people say, Gagner is a good player, he just doesn't fit the Leafs with Grabovski here, if Grabo was gone then it would make a little more sense to bring him in.

The question is whether bringing "a lot" to the team in terms of "chewing up minutes" on D is good enough. His game was exposed blatantly in that Boston series.

His game wasn't exposed - his lack of help was exposed.

Look at Chara - I can't remember the exact number, but it was something like he was on the ice for 8 of the last 9 Chicago goals (something like that).

Is Chara a bad defenceman?
