I think you're on crack in this regard.

If he will, I'm on board. but he has the worst agent in sports if he does

- Big_Lightnin

1. He's not that great, good but not great. Most realistic option in my opinion, not great enough to demand more than that.

2. He wants to play exclusively for the Leafs, the Leafs can offer what ever they want, if in fact he wants to play for the Leafs, if he wants more, he's not playing for the team he wants to play for.

3. He had a terrible season last year, not exactly able to ask for the moon, he hasn't exactly lit the world on fire the last few years either. However, I do believe he'd play better alongside Kessel and Lupul. A 60-70 pt player.

4. The cap is going down.

I see him signing a 2 yr 9million dollar contract.

Except they're not LA's top line centers.

Could be top line center calibre, though.

In that case, Jordan Staal.

- Feeling Glucky?

Yeah, I'm including guys who could be #1, but are blocked in the system.

Nobody thinks of Malkin as anything but a #1 center, for instance.

Flawed logic. The western conference teams don't need to worry about what the lines are on the eastern conference teams so they don't care. Its the same reasoning behind more trades happen with teams outside the division and then outside the conference. If anything the price for a top D would go up if teams think Leafs are looking for a replacement as this makes them look desperate.

yes, i know, any unbiased commentary regarding the Leafs is nonsense. sorry. trade is slam dunk win for Toronto. second round picks are completely useless and have never contributed anything to any hockey team in the history of the NHL.

is that better kid?

- scotch_tape

Hey kid!
My 2nd round pick comment was a joke.
Can you tell me what DoubleDown thought of the trade, i'm confused.

Well regardless of what happens with Bozak we have Kadri, Grabovski, and Colborne down the middle, bozak resigns colborne fills in for the injured (i thought he looked decent on his call up, but not a game changer, yet anyway).

Lupul-Bozak/Kadri-Kessel
JVR-Grabovski-Kulemin
Hamilton-Kadri/Colborne-?

I know Leafs brass likes Hamilton a lot. But that 9th spot vacated by Komarov is still open. I could be a homer tho and say that's where Clarkson goes. I think him and Kadri could do very well together. Also Ashton had a strong showing towards the end of the year, but its unlike Nonis to give a position to someone.

no, he was Sold, and that's not allowed anymore.

If you could still BUY players, Leafs would have solved this long ago. like Say the day after the 2009 draft

Burkie: "Hey Wanger, Burkie here. I'll give ya 50 Million smackers for that Tavares kid."

Charles Wang: "you had me at Wanger"
