Weiss isn't the answer though. I don't want another bandaid. If we're not going to have a real #1, then go with Kadri and Grabo and build the wingers so we can survive till the right one comes. - Big_Lightnin
i know weiss isnt the answer... in fact thats what ive been saying., if my posts have been followed correctly |

Have to be kidding me if you think the other 2 are better options. - ThePresident
Bozak and Weiss have about the same value to this team. Bozak is younger and has established chemistry. Relatively risk free.
Weiss has a higher proven upside, but he's declining and coming off a terrible year. Riskier in that he'll get more money. |

I'd like to insert Boyd Gordon into the last pair and move one of them to wing. - Big_Lightnin

So you think Bozak Kadri is better than Weiss Kadri? Grabovski Kadri is better than Weiss Kadri? - ThePresident
yes. You are overrating weiss. |

Maybe we should keep Vinny for #1C instead of Buying him out! Has there been anything about that Tampa/Toronto deal since JJ talked about it?? |

I believe he'd have a better season statistical wise than he's had in a few years, playing in between Lupul and Kessel. A much better playmaker, with better leadership skills. |

It's the most realistic solution, sure I'd prefer other options, but they're not realistic. Weiss is a better option than both Bozak and Grabovski, that's the bottom line. Our team would have a better 1-2 punch than last year. - ThePresident
not enough better to warrant the salary it will cost plus compliance buyout of Grabo.

Lupul-Kadri-Clarkson
I'll be happy with those lines. And I want to see it.
Lot of talk about Grabo and Kessel being a bad fit, but no proof.
I want to see it in pre-season. - Big_Lightnin
eh, I'd much rather see Bozak beside Kessel than experiment with Grabo.

yes. You are overrating weiss. - Lee Denault
Not overrating him at all, I sad its not the best, but most realistic option, an improvement over last year. You're overrating Bozak and Grabovski, greatly. |

Joe Thorton to the Sharks is the exception - PinkSock
Ironically, he mentioned Sundin, as well. I realize this was a while ago, but it's another example of a traded #1 center.
There have to be more recent examples. |

Grabo is better than Bozak at every aspect of the game except faceoffs, and the difference isn't enough to make up for the other areas. |

#1 and #2 are Kadri and Grabbo - not neccessarily in that order.
#3 and #4 are McClement and Colborne - not neccessarily in that order. - Atomic Wedgie

What if a team just said "Screw it" and did this?
What if one of the big market teams just decided to drop 90 million on salaries? Would they be punished with lost draft picks?
I'd be inclined to say "So what?" if you could stack your team. - Leeman4Gilmour
NHL just wouldn't approve the contracts |

Grabo is tradeable I think, and Weiss will come to the Leafs for 4.5 in my opinion. He doesn't exactly have negotiation power given his season last year, and the fact he wants to be signed by the Leafs. |

Overrating Bozak. Don't know how we forget how much he has sucked, he wins a few faceoffs and suddenly he's awesome. |
