We don't though, who's our 2nd line RW going into next season?
- ThePresident

To be determined, but right now probably MacArthur.

It wouldn't have been Frattin regardless of this trade

And we can call Francios Beauchemin the 4th best dman in the NHL.

Boy did the leafs lose that trade!

- robin_steele264

Last year, he certainly was. I'm not gonna knock Beauchemin. That guy got a rough ride here.

Worth it.

The other 3 are worth it...every now and then

- AdamFrench

I'd remove Campbell and Green as well. They're not as good offensively as is perceived I think.

Suter, Campbell, and Green are not worth what they make.
- ThePresident

Suter is a monster and should have won the Norris easily, Green has evolved actually playing defense for once and Campbell is probably the best puck mover in the game, even if he's overpaid and old.

I'd say Suter is, he was phenomenal for the wild.

Well I hope its not MacArthur, or Kulemin. I think it would greatly benefit the team if we were able to acquire Bobby Ryan. Go into next season with Lupul/Weiss/Kessel
JVR/Kadri/Ryan

I like this trade for the Leafs. I don't think Reimer is very good at all. He's athletic but he always seems all over te place. He looks like a mediocre starter at best. Bernier could be a solid no 1 and has the higher ceiling. As for what he Leafs gave up, I think it's a nice haul for LA. Frattin is a real nice third liner and more than a throw in. And if you don't think so, take a look at who was on your fourth line this season and you'll realize that depth in Toronto is not a strong point. And second round picks are valuable, even if you guys place no value on picks after he first round. Look at what the Boston Bruins do with their second rounders.
- DoubleDown

Wow. Talk about rambling nonsense. Take a meaningless 2nd round pick
and get. I mean, really, give it a rest.

Not the best option, but I see it as the most realistic, better option than both Bozak and Grabovski in my opinion. And hopefully Kadri will be able to surpass him as the season progresses, having Weiss knocked down into the #2 C spot.

Yes. He got his payday before people started to cheat the cap (Keith/Zetterberg/Kovy/Luongo/and so on deals) just like Phaneuf. If either had gotten a lower cap 5 mil, deal nobody would care.

Yes, let's put a bullet in this Weiss stuff. The guy will get more than Bozak and he's probably no more valuable. Arguably worse.

I see him signing for a very reasonable price, more than he made previously, but still a good number. Word is, and I'm not just saying this, his preference is the Leafs. If that is the case, the Leafs have some negotiating power.

it's been discussed, but I can't quote it.

He's American, loves it in LA. He's got maybe 2 more years left tops - doesn't want to deal with the hassle of getting a Visa, not to mention tax situation in Canada.

That's been the jist of discussion
