Roster size: 11
Cap Ceiling: $64,300,000
Payroll: $41,416,667
Bonuses: $300,000
Space: $23,183,333
23 000 000 for 12 players.
Pretty good. - Feeling Glucky?
I wouldnt say pretty good...it might still be close
If they sign these players
Kadri
Colborne
Mclaren
Gunnarson
Bernier
Franson
Fraser
It gives them 18 players signed. I am guessing it takes 15-16mil to sign the above players
say 16, that leaves 7 to sign Free agents

Surely the guy can be traded for a 7th rounder? Save the Compliance Buyouts...they'll be gold in 2014. - djamon
Why would a team trade for Komi?
He cleared waivers earlier this year.
He isn't good enough to play in the NHL.
And he has a $4.5 million cap hit.
He's simply not good enough any more to play in the NHL. |

Is Gagner actually any good? Any indepth analysis on the guy? What's his potential? - ThePresident
He's at it right now. The guy has played 6 full seasons in the NHL with some decent linemates and has scored at the same pace as Bozak.
I almost sh!t my pants when the Sportsnet fools said it would take more than Dion to get him from the Oilers. They've been trying to trade him for literally 3 years. |

but not good enough to warrant paying him $4M+ on the same team with Grabo and Kadri. Too many small centers.

Is he capable of becoming a ppg player? A #1 centerman? Is he good on faceoffs? |

Gagner is good, he's in his 7th season at 24, so still developing. He's small tho, him and kadri play different style of a game at center but similar skill level. |

Yes we can, but it obviously goes against the Cap which makes the savings insignificant.
Mike Komisarek buyout from CapGeek.com
2013-14: $2,166,667
2014-15: $1,166,667 - djamon
you'r reading it wrong.
it's $1.166 both years.
you quoted the cap savings
EDIT: me, nevermind |

I disagree. There are teams who need the Cap hit, he's only being paid $3.5m. He's definitely good enough to take a flyer on and throw on the bottom pair for one year. The cost of a 7th rounder is almost non-existent.

It feels like we've had Tucker's cap hit on the books for an eternity.
Can somebody explain to me why JFJ was permitted to (frank) us over for the next decade with his incompetence?
After it. became clear he was a moron, why was he allowed to make decisions with long term implications? What would have been the harm in playing Tucker for a couple more years?
We we so close to being contenders in 2007 that we needed to clear his salary off the books and open up a spot for one of our amazing prospects?
Odds are he would have hurt himself trying to kill Chara or something and his money would be off the books. |

Unlikely, too small and doesn't play tough. And i don't know the numbers but face offs were poor, only Horcoff could win one on that team. |

70 point potential I could see.
He's improved in all 'non-scoring' areas of the game as well over the past couple years.
He's also around 200lbs which apparently is small.
Hes all heart.

I don't think that the payouts are the same as the cap hits.
I seem to recall the cap hits follow what his cap hit would have been.

Bozak is 6'1, 195lbs, and yes, he is small. |

Figures talking about the oilers would pry you out I agree with your assessment, but had no idea he was 200lbs, does not look or play like it. Your right tho, kids got heart. |
