we do want Clarkson.
- Big_Lightnin

Yes, I would like him on the team. I have met him here in town, several times. He is a party hound for sure. He loves it here in the Maritimes.

[quote=AdamFrench]Here's the way I see it going down
Pick Team Player Position Explaination School Height Weight
1
Colorado
Nathan MacKinnon
C
Natural goal scorer, Sakic knows that putting the puck in the net is the most important element of a winning hockey team. MacKinnon is a simply fantastic prospect who has all the tools a GM would want in a high draft choice. His body and skills are advanced, relative to the fact he is a tad over two weeks away from being bumped to the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. MacKinnon is an elite skater, and possibly a generational one, easily the best in this draft class. He has an unbelievable first few steps, and he generates a ridiculous amount of power from his legs. Roy would trade this pick away but Aves fans will be thrilled to watch MacKinnon dazzle crowds for years to come Halifax (QMJHL)
5' 11.5" 181
2
Florida
Seth Jones
D
This is the consolation prize in this draft, moving Brennen to the Predators opens the Defensive spot on the roster for the most promising Defensive prospect on the board. He is a special defense prospect, and as I outlined in the previous section, he nearly made me break my tendency of preferring an elite forward to a defenseman. Jones is a high-end (arguably an elite) skater, who moves at a unique and unusual level for such a large man. With his very large wingspan and mobility, Jones closes gaps with high efficiency, and he can be difficult to get around. Portland (WHL)
6' 3.5" 205
3
Tampa Bay
Jonathan Drouin
LW
A Martin St Louis clone with St Louis on site to train the diminutive winger, Drouin is an absolute magician with the puck and is very disciplined without it. Drouin is special offensive talent, with upside through the roof—a prototypical elite, puck possession forward. Drouin has unique puck skills, with the ability to show consistent offensive creativity. The sniper of the draft lands in Tampa Halifax (QMJHL)

Nice quick reply Adam. Actually, Looks bang on. JD may slide to 4th.

TSN says Komi is being bought out, do we like using 1 of the buyouts on that? its only 1 year
- PinkSock

What are you going to save it for? Clear the space if not being used, its free. Use it.

He's only being knocked because everyone is offended by the trade lol

As much as I hate to say it, I think Reimer's career will be a good backup goalie or a starting goalie on a weak(ish) team.

Go through the entire league, how many jobs would Reimer steal?

20?

Like when Max Domi falls to 25?

If he's around and at 21, there's no way we'd pass.

First part Sarcasm, second part sincere.

After the top 5 or 6, its a crap shoot. I know the kids are good, but if players move a spot or two...

Yes we can, but it obviously goes against the Cap which makes the savings insignificant.

French, why is that list different? Also the story is too good for the Leafs to pass up Max Domi if he is still on the board. I prefered your other pick for TO in Compher

Not me, it's a guy in the Flames blog, trying to make the Flames trade for 2 first rounders.

Not really, cause Komi could stay in the AHL. Unless Nonis gave his word that he would set Komi free...than I have no issue with him sticking to his word.

how could he stay in the A?

Surely the guy can be traded for a 7th rounder? Save the Compliance Buyouts...they'll be gold in 2014.

and when he was out Clarkson played 1st line and paced top checkers... and the PP disappeared without Kovi.

Clarkson fills a void this team lacks badly. They have no on like him, and need someone like him.

It's him or Horton, and I think Clarkson is more durable (going forward) than Horton, and will likely cost slightly less.

Also don't see Horton signing with Leafs if he has a choice (and he will).
