I have, for many years, and he's always had his best games against the Leafs. He disapears for long stretches and is a streaky player. I love the type of player he is, but the window to get him and not overpay for him or even overpay him has passed. I was on here 3 years ago saying he'd be a great acquisition and cheap because at the time he was earning a lot of cash and producing crap. Then he had the 30 goal season (much of it was similar to Kulimen's 30 goal season), and now he's all the rage. - mykokes
what about the 25G pace he had this year with only an 8.3% shooting percentage?
Look at Clarkson's career stat progression taking into account he broke his leg half-way through 09-10 season.
Kuli's 30G season he shot 17% - that's insane. Clarkson was only 13% (still his highest career though) - but was also a result of getting PP time he wasn't getting before - 8 of 30G were PP. 6 of 15G PP this year - cause he crashes the net and has the hands to put it in. Something the Leafs desparately need on the PP.
Ok, so not as many as I thought on the breakaway, lot of cycling down low, and the first bunch look like they're either on turnovers or the PP. - mykokes
He's an opportunistic goal scorer, can't set up anything to save his life, but he'll finish. I really hope Nonis lands him.

TSN says Komi is being bought out, do we like using 1 of the buyouts on that? its only 1 year - PinkSock
Not really, cause Komi could stay in the AHL. Unless Nonis gave his word that he would set Komi free...than I have no issue with him sticking to his word.

I was wondering about this, for these compliance buyouts are they only good this off season and next year? like if you don't use them by next summer then you don't get to use them at all?

still a $3.6M cap hit, + the $2.5 from previous buyouts and Frattin's salary retention.

I don't see Clarkson as much more than a really good third liner personally. Think he can jump into the top 6 sure, but he's not in the same class as Kessel, lupul, JVR and, jesus, I can't even remember who's on our team anymore. - mykokes
Not many in the same class as Jesus...doesn't hit though, but a great playmaker and always keeps his cool.

From Feb 12th to April 13th, Clarkson's final 36 games, he scored 6 goals and had 3 assists and was a -10.
