Clarkson is a late bloomer. He plays like Dustin Brown and has top 6 skills. And we could park him in front of the goalie on the PP. He would be a good fit as would Horton.
- Smurfs-A-Joke

Would put Horton ahead of Clarkson but yeah

I like the thought of getting Horton away from the Bruins.

you need to watch him play.....
- Barx

I have, for many years, and he's always had his best games against the Leafs. He disapears for long stretches and is a streaky player. I love the type of player he is, but the window to get him and not overpay for him or even overpay him has passed. I was on here 3 years ago saying he'd be a great acquisition and cheap because at the time he was earning a lot of cash and producing crap. Then he had the 30 goal season (much of it was similar to Kulimen's 30 goal season), and now he's all the rage.

Gordon would be nice, but we'd need to buyout Grabs first.

Biggs will need a couple more years.

Ashton's a long shot

- AngryWhiteMale

I think Grabbo could be bought out like you said. I'd be sad, really love the bloke. Heart of the team, but that contract just messed it up a tad. Hopefully not,but i'd understand if he was:

May leave centers as:
Stastny?
Kadri
Colbououououououououorneeeene
McClement

If not:
Kadri
Colbououououououououorneeeene
McClement
Gordon

Hopefully they think it through

he isnt very good at handling the puck.. he still needs to spend more time on his glove hand.. then this year he started moving his stick out of the way when he dropped into the butterfly exposing his five hole a lot.

the kid has some skills but he is nowhere near being a defacto starter in the NHL.

- Dozzer

He dosnt know when to hold the puck or play it, and hes not very athletic, kinda sucks when he does play the puck

I hope Ashton gets something finally going. He hasn't been able to do much at the AHL level let alone the NHL. If he finally lives up to his hype, he would be exactly what Id want on the 3rd line.
- markmark

Good 2nd half and very good playoffs. Eakins loves the kid. I think he makes the team now that there's more of an opening on 3rd/4th lines.

Not sure why everyone seems to think Reimer is going to be traded. Rynnas left for Finland so who would be our back up? Likely Reimer will be given his chance to start at the beginning, and if he gets injured again Bernier is tenfold a better option than Scrivens.

Dustin Brown or Mike Brown? Big difference...
- magmoo

I was thinking a Mike brown type, a little less focused on the fighting, but can and does, and far more focus on the scoring. Good power forward within the NJ system. Not sure how it works in TO for him. Many of the players from the NJ system fail in others.

Kinda like Brown 2.0 Scrappy player, that bangs in a bunch of goals.
- bixll

He actually scores more on breakaways then people realize. Good speed, good skater, that can back his game up with toughness.

Not asking this to be female dogy, honest.

Has he really ever been hyped?

29th pick in the first round, and I never heard anything about him after that.

He was absolutely invisible when he played for the Leafs.

I doubt he'll ever play for the Leafs again.

I just don't see any value to this guy.

- Atomic Wedgie

The trade for Ashton was a bust, Aulie is a solid young guy only getting better and defensive, which the team could use right now. Ashton will never play a regular shift in the NHL IMO.

He signed in the SEL, for substantially more money than he would make in AHL, and he wasn't making the Leafs...

There are others that did not do well. Pando, White.... White told me that coming from a d - first system to the Sharks was a major change in the way they approach the game. Tuff transition.

dodged a flying truck tire on the highway... but not quick enough... my bumper is a bit bumped, and scuffed.

Is that something the comprehensive warranty would cover?

Rather Clarkson than Horton though, given Horton's injury troubles.

And Clarkson likely be a bit cheaper, not having any cup rings...

Prior to the Aulie trade and even soon after, I thought he had the tools to be like a Kulimen with more offense. That hasn't panned out obviously but I thought he could get there.

I think the idea would be trade Reimer, and then sign a vet as backup.

If it happens.

Not saying it will.
