Philly always drafts centres, Philly always needs goalies......don't worry, one day Bernier or Reimer will get more from Philly than any of those 3 assets we gave up in this deal. - mykokes
I think your right. I think Trading Reims is risky as heck and if Nonis does, he better hope the hype surrounding Bernier is accurate, we're talking about trading one of the best young goalies in the LEague. |

Loved Frattin's work ethic. Always giving 100%. - bixll
I did too. But would've loved him more if he scored on that breakaway! jk.
I'll miss him, but I think this trade was a good one. |

Phaneuf's the player to be named later after the O'byrne trade. |

My sources (tsn radio) are telling me the Avs and Leafs are discussing a major trade with the key pieces being Paul Stastny and Dion Phaneuf.
Personally, I would rather keep Elisha Cuthbert around... - Hockey_Reverend

They still know he could get injured. If you have Bernier you have insurance no? So they obviously believe Scrivens can play well enough if called upon, just like he did in TO. - aminnes
you have no idea what they believe about Scrivens.
Bernier wouldn't sign with them. Lombardi promised him he would trade him this summer by the draft (or prior to July 5th). If they hadn't traded him, he would have signed an offer sheet.
They had no choice.
Generally when you trade a goalie it's just good math to get one back. Every Team needs 4 goalies minimum (2 for AHL) |

For those of you who missed this, a local sports radio station suggested that Leafs and Lightning are talking trade. Something along the lines of
Dion Phaneuf along with the 21st overall for Slater Koekkoek, Nate Thompson and the 3rd overall pick.
We'd obviously have to take some salary back and likely add some prospects. Interesting for sure though. |

so you thought a third liner, a back-up goalie heading to UFA and a pick is going to get you a top four d? Or perhaps a number one centreman?
umm....no. - Barx
So is LA dumb. Obviously they see something good in those guys. Frattin is 3 years from showing what he can do and he has size speed and good shot, and he back checks. It was a needless trade to an area that is already strong. Before you guys downplay what was given up, the LA Kings wanted those players for a reason, they didn't just trade Bernier away for poops and giggles. |

Ya they did, there's always a choice. They do get compensation for offer sheets, plus, if Bernier was so sought after, why not more for him? |

NO, it was the best deal they could get at this time. They thought anyway, or they would not have pulled the trigger on the deal. |
