I could see that.
Don't see Horton signing with LEafs - he's gonna get big numbers thrown at him. Edmonton should take a huge run.
rather Clarkson, if for no other reason than I think he'll be a bit cheaper, and doesn't have Horton's soft noggin. - Big_Lightnin
Agreed, ference for about 2-2.5M for like 2 years would be a decent deal |

What's the most you would pay him term/$ ?? - Byfuglien Ate Me
honestly he prolly doesn't sign for less than $3M, and that's more than I would pay.

and again... I haven't said that. All I have said is he's the best D the Leafs have. Period.
and it's a significant gap.
sadly - Big_Lightnin
Meh... I don't think if he was replaced with a quality top 4 vet, and his minutes were spread around that you'd see this huge drop off.
Good system can do a lot.

Off topic here but I sure hope the Leafs sign Mike Ribeiro to be their new number one center. Look what he did for Ovi and the Caps power play, he is responsible for them returning to form. His playmaking is off the charts and would fit great with Kessel and Lupul, don't bash me, just get him signed. - flyerdude17
I have seen quite a few here that want to sign him, no one should bash you for the opinion. |

(frank) just go get Ian White back. |

I would have been happy if he even looked at him. There were many times this year he was caught waving his stick at guys in front. He has all the physical elements but a low hockey IQ. - aminnes
Don't get how Byfuglien has a low hockey IQ? So he drinks a 5 gallon pail of gravy in a sitting, but that has nothing to do with Hockey IQ. |

even if try real hard and don't see his ceiling being higher than what we've seen from Grabo in the last 3 years (this year aside).
25+ goals just isn't in Bozak's wheelhouse. - Big_Lightnin
I here that. The scoring and points weren't a problem though, even wih grabo having a bad year production wise. He's virsatile, but 3.5 max is reality. |

I know dozzer was talking about hainsey for cheap as well maybe hed be a better fit than whitney since whitney is injury prone but i still like the idea of stealing bostons players in ference and possibly horton if not horton clarkson then - Mapleleafs_91
Hainsey is a shot blocking machine, just love how this guy has transformed from a puck moving dman to a shut down guy. He will not last long in free agency and he can run a pp to boot, don't really like the idea of trading Phaneuf though. |

Yep, thats fine too. I'm pretty sure Clarksons coming, he's been talking to Kostopulous who frinds with a bud of mine, so really just shore up the D. I think if Dion is traded, it has less to do with him and more to do with the captaincy. I just have that feeling, could be wrong but some of the stuff he did this year did look really bad. - aminnes
Awesome. I'm all for Clarkson! He'd be a good addition. We need the size and grit on the top 6.
I do agree Phaneuf isn't the best captain. But I dont find it all that important. Least of the teams concerns, IMO. that's a detail that can wait til we actually have a team in October.
And im not comfortable moving Phaneuf unless we get a D that can do what he does coming back. |

Agree, six years is a stretch, I could see four years max, that would make him 36 when it is up. He could easily be another Whitney Ray and play effectively for the six years but rather max it at 3 or 4 years. He would make the pp one of the best in the league and is excellent in shoot outs as well. |

ya Bozak at 3-3.5M INSTEAD of Grabo at 5.5M is good.
I just don't see the point of the 2 small C's again.
sign a Big 34C (Gordon), McClement or Colborne play other C.
I'm a Grabo fan, and I don't see them buying him out. Not after a bad half year where he had role change and serious medical issues |
