When all is said and done I think I'd rather have the likes of Gagner at a cheaper rate slotting into the centre role than having the likes of Stats, Weiss, Kesler and all other aforementioned.

Gagner has not played in a defense first system... not even close.. .how much will his offense suffer playing a Carlyle system?

no. He's better than Bozak, but worse on faceoffs, maybe not as good as Kadri looks like he will be, and not as defensively strong as Grabo.
