I see him signing for a very reasonable price, more than he made previously, but still a good number. Word is, and I'm not just saying this, his preference is the Leafs. If that is the case, the Leafs have some negotiating power. - ThePresident
Weiss?
he made $4.1M last season. "More than that" turns into a bad number pretty (frank)ing fast for Weiss.

TSN says Komi is being bought out, do we like using 1 of the buyouts on that? its only 1 year - PinkSock
Would rather he be bought out traditionally. Saves 2mill next year and tacks on 1.2mill the following and int the following year they will have 2.5mill coming off the books (Armstrong, Scrivens/Frattin and finally Tucker) |

Well I hope its not MacArthur, or Kulemin. I think it would greatly benefit the team if we were able to acquire Bobby Ryan. Go into next season with Lupul/Weiss/Kessel
JVR/Kadri/Ryan - ThePresident
Clarkson easier to get than Ryan, and arguably a better fit (to this team) given the price to acquire Ryan.

it's been discussed, but I can't quote it.
He's American, loves it in LA. He's got maybe 2 more years left tops - doesn't want to deal with the hassle of getting a Visa, not to mention tax situation in Canada.
That's been the jist of discussion - Big_Lightnin
Ahh. Understandable then. He would have been good to have though. I'll take anyone, just not Kostka or Holzer.. |

True, but only if we remove Grabo.
And Weiss won't sign for $4.5M per. He'd be a (frank)ing fool if he does.

A small center coming off an injury shortened, 4 point, -13 year should not get more than 4 million.
Especially not when he's 30 and declining. |

So. Assuming we cant find a center upgrade, who is our 1C for the start of the next season? (Or is Nonis waiting until the last minute/option to give Bozak another contract?) |

oh hell ya I was all about getting Scuderi till I started hearing that. Still love to have him, but he's not coming.
Leafs would have to offer dramatically more money than West coast US teams... and that wouldn't be wise.

If the only options are Weiss and Rib's.......
I choose Bozak.
Luckily, it's the beginning of the off-season and although some here
may disagree, the sky is not falling. |

David Clarkson isn't that good, certainly not a fulltime 2nd line RW, and is most likely going to be 5 mil+. Any team that signs him will be regretting the contract soon after, his style of play is going to catch up to him, his career is only going to go downward from here. Colby Armstrong 2.0 |

Cautionary tale for Canucks fans: that's what happens when you let an incompetent GM stay on one year too long. |

Gotta be a kick to the nuts though - as competitive as he is. I bet he's had plenty of sleepless nights - counting his money, but sleepless none the less. |

Lupul-Kadri-Clarkson
I'll be happy with those lines. And I want to see it.
Lot of talk about Grabo and Kessel being a bad fit, but no proof.
I want to see it in pre-season.

Weiss - is he really an upgrade? Seems to old to fit the blueprint of the current Leafs..
Is Kadri ever gonna get his shot at 1c? or is that too soon? |

I'd want Weiss over both Grabo and Bozak to start the season on the 1st line, then hopefully have him drop down to the 2nd once Kadri surpasses him. |
