For the reasons that you mentioned, the idea of signing one or two older veterans who may be willing to sign relatively wealthy one year contracts is appealing. Just don't want to commit to Ryder long term, and I like Clowe, but his rumored asking price was insane.

I can see the Rangers trying to clear out some of the brush at the bottom of the roster, Powe, Pyatt, et, and upgrading with some jam guys -- Hendricks, Satan's spawn, et.

- Pete V

I know Hendricks is very high on the wish list.

Hendricks and glencross would be nice additions. About the same amount of $ as bickell would get probably

They're the type of player they should be looking to add.

If the Rangers can unload Pyatt, I would like to see Hendricks as the 3rd/4th line center. Let Lindberg get a year in the AHL and have Boyle center the 3rd line and Hendricks center the 4th line.

Maybe they could buyout Richards resign clowe, trade hagelin for glencross and bring in Hendricks

Kreider-Stepan-Nash
MZA/glencross-brassard-Callahan/clowe
Glencross/MZA-miller-clowe/Callahan
Boyle-Hendricks-Dorsett/pyatt
asham/powe/fast/Lindberg

I like it. We have depth. Can we fit it under the cap?

They would have the room for that. I like Hendricks, but also need to make sure you don't overpay for him, because he's only scored 17 points the last two years -- under $2 million and I'm fine with signing him, and putting him on the fourth line with Boyle (who would move to wing). Also, if you re-sign Clowe and sign Hendricks, you no longer need to trade Hagelin for Glencross. The toughness would be there, and then the speed in Hagelin would be more important.

Gotta keep Hags. Can't teach speed.

Yeah, I think Hags for Glencross is a good trade to debate (in that I see both sides), but speed kills. A guy with Hags speed in exceptionally hard to play against, in that they can pressure the puck, and create turnovers and mistakes. Hard to trade a young guy with that much speed, who will only have a $2 million cap hit, and can chip in 20 goals or so.

Edit: The Rangers are building some depth in the prospect base at the forward position. No true superstar types, but alot of solid young players, who won't all be able to suit up for the Rangers. So, what if you could get Glencross for one of the B+ forward prospects in the Rangers system?

Hagelin showed in glimpses last year he has a sneaky shot. In a new system I am intrigued to see if he can unleash it a few more times.

I said yesterday that what you see with Hagelin now, is what you get. But, I like what I see. I see a 20 goal player, with blazing speed that can forecheck, and create havoc, but whom maybe lacks huge offensive upside. With that said, would it shock me if he can score 25 goals in the NHL? No. Would it shock me if he ever cleared 30? Yes. But, 20-25 goals/50 points, with all other types of intangibles is sweet for a $2 million player.

I would for sure. St. Croix, Nieves etc are all guys I would offer. Not Fast or Lindberg though. Those have shown they can play against men in the SEL.

The Wild will be a victim of an offer sheet. Falk, Spurgeon and Clutterbuck are all RFA and need to be re-signed. Clutterbuck needs to be qualified at 1.5 million. They have 3.3 million in cap space.

Hard to tell the trade value for a guy like Glencross from a prospect perspective. When the Caps gave up Forsberg to get Erat, it makes you wonder whether it takes very good to great prospects to get good established talent.

I'd be ok with that. Would def like to 2 players brought in this or next year in the clowe mold tho. Hendricks doesn't score but he's a very good player otherwise

Nothing was better than the Hawks victory in 2010. Boston Bruins are definitely not one of my "hated" teams. Don't like them, but respect them for what they have accomplished.

I don't get the Yankee hate fest by met fans. In 86, the Mets had the support of every Yanks fan.

It just became a jealousy thing for me, winning every year. Then getting every friggin player to go there. Now there fans make fun of us

The 2nd happiest non ranger sports day of life was game 7 when the sawx beat the yanks after being down 3-0. Mets in 86 I remember well enough. But that was a distant 2nd to the rangers in '94. Jets? Oye
