I like that deal.

Our org is loaded with speed...size and jam on the wings is at a minimum. Its a no brainier

I do too, like I stated earlier. Unlike Jan, I don't see the upside of Hags, great kid, great speed, I think he is what he is & we'll never see the finishing qualities that he needs.

Glencross has an edge & a great contract, its a risk but I would do that deal.

If the below are the Top 3 lines, my concern is that you have three primarily play making centers, and not enough wingers that can put the puck in the net. Nash obviously can bury 40, Callahan and Glencross are probably good for 20-25 a piece. Zucarello isn't much of a goal scorer, and Miller is still a question mark give his age. Alot would depend on Kreider, but I think we still need to find someone on the wing that can score some goals.

Yes & I like that as a top 3, not perfect but solid. I know your not big on the Kreider train Pete, but a new voice like the kid will hear from AV could do wonders for his confidance. I really feel he will break out this season.

What we giving up to get Glencross? Feel like he has coming here and busting written all over him...

Also sick picture of Frankie with Mess and Bobby Richards...

Also, posted on last thread, post it here too, met MeltingPlastic this weekend at a concert, now just the rest of you all!

You know, Brian, while I killed him this year, I think the kid is tremendously important. Those last two games of the Boston series he looked like a force, banging the body, and fast as hell. If he arrives this year, the Rangers will be a great shape. But, even if he does, I still think guys like Brassard, Richards, and Stepan need more punch on the wings.

Let's say, hypothetically that Marc Staal was fine, and you could trade in a package for Jeff Skinner. I like the team alot better with this Top 3 lines, and taking the hit on defense. I am just using this deal again to illustrate, as I know it could be difficult given Staal's health situation.

Skinner-Stepan-Nash
Kreider-Brassard-Callahan
Glencross-Richards-MZA

Obviously, that creates a problem for Miller.

Brian wants to trade him for Hagelin. TJ agrees, but if TJ could trade Hagelin for Walter Hudson, he probably would.

I will repeat what I said last week, I just can't be sure about Staal & I think other teams would be too before we deal him in hypotheticals. Is he valuable still? Hellz, but I don't think we would get full value at all for him, it would take a lot to get Skinner here.

I said I would be ok with that deal, I'm not pushing for it, I think Glen brought it up first.

It's actually a really interesting trade proposal, and something I could see happening. I was just messing around, Brian.

The guy is a good hockey player. He finished second on the team in points during this playoff season, averaging about 16 minutes of ice per game. There is more to the game than just size, plently more. And, Zucc would be a steal for anything less than $1.5 million, especially because it would give the Rangers an asset that they can move in a subsequent deal. Just not signing him, and letting him walk as a RFA would be stupid, and not a good use of organizational assets. If you don't see him in the long-term plans, than you can move him down the road.
- Pete V

I agree. He is Rangers property and is very useful.

It's unfortunate with Staal, because I think Carolina wants nothing more than to unite the brothers in Carolina. Not to mention the fact that they also really need a defender. Skinner is very good player, but is not without his drawbacks either. He makes a ton of money for someone who isn't an elite player.

I'll believe he told his caddy that he'll be back, and is just trying to walk it back a little now. Personally, I think he is coming back, because I think having non-2013 Richards, Stepan, and Brassard down the middle is impressive strength at center, and being strong at center is how you win in this league. Now obviously, the big question mark is whether pre-2013 Brad Richards still exists.

You guys clearly dont know some of these players positions'

If we keep MZA and trade Hagelin for Glencross (a trade Im not totally against)... heres what I think the lines should look like...

Nash, Stepan, MZA
Kreider, Richards, Callahan
Glencross, Brassard, Pyatt/Miller
Pyatt/Powe, Boyle, Dorsett

If we trade for Skinner...

Nash, Stepan, MZA/Skinner
Kreider, Ricahrds, Skinner/MZA/Callahan
Glencross, Brassard, Callahan
Pyatt/Powe, Boyle, Dorsett

I think these are the lines we should see.

I think they are crazy if they don't buy him out now, it's like playing Russian Roulette with the franchise at this point
