Its an interesting situation, if theyre shopping MDZ, are they doing it to make space on the cap because they want to keep Richards and resign Clowe? Or are they doing it to make a big splash and Richards will get bought out regardless.

The only UFA that I know for sure they plan pursue is Matt Hendricks. As far as the MDZ rumor is concerned there has been the feeling that he is expendable in the right deal, and if Slats sees it, he'll make the deal.

Slats traded for him with the idea of resigning him, he's the type player Torts wanted. Now, we have a new coach, but I still think the club would like to bring Clowe back, I think the question is more that of health than contract.
