They probably have something in the works and need the space.

Probably will...

As per the main hb thread... how high a pick would you want in a trade for Hagelin?

I find it strange that AV was fired in the first place. His record is great, and honestly, i blame management, not him, for the goalie issue and i think that played more of a factor in the underachieving than they are willing to admit and AV became the fall guy.

AV will be welcomed here in NY once we see how his style differs from Torts. I think we'll see CK20 bloom under him.

Torts to the nucks is honestly, a oh poop this is our last chance to win move. The hope is that Torts lights a fire under their collective asses and they play like they can. I honestly see him lasting 2 seasons max if they don't win a cup. Plus, looking at who was available, AV was the highest qualified and they just canned him, Torts was second followed by Ruff and Eakins a fourth only cause he was an unknown. No doubt Ruff would not work in Vancouver though so Torts was the likely replacement even if Slats went with someone else.

The reason is obvious: 1 and 8 last 2 years in the playoffs. Really is the only knock on the guy tho. At first that's what I didn't like about him. But I realized he was the best guy to get

Im excited to see how this team plays with a more open system, but we still have gaps that need filling. However, you cant always blame the coach, the players need to do their job, if they start tuning out the coach (which is what I think started happening) then you get exactly what happened.

we tried it when i still lived in NJ so ~3 years ago and everyone bailed last minute

Basically what the plan was was to head to NYC for a sat/sun game vs say the devils and watch it at brother jimmy's bbq, any age can get in. Once they release the schedules i'll put up some feelers for it, even though i'm not as active on this thread anymore (life/work/etc taking up too much time lately lol)

Im game for this any time.

Very high, since we know what we have in Hagelin, who can be a 2nd/3rd liner, but also see top line duty

The recapture rule separates the big boy from the little boy writers.

I like Hags, and he is a proven player now in the NHL, but I dont think we would get a top 10 pick for him.

it's like come on dude, get a clue

Don't be criticizing for GM's "making mistakes" and not admitting that these bad contracts were done under a different CBA.

Just be reasonable.

what a doooooooosh

Ryane Clowe received the green light from doctors. Full battery of tests and all is very positive. He suffered a concussion in the playoffs.

Sorry, no way I give him four years or $3.5 million per based on injury history, drop in production etc.

I said max... In a perfect world, I give him 1 year, 3 million to show me what he has... and we will talk something more significant next year when the books open up.
