I wouldn't be surprised if he got five years, $22.5MM actually. He has size and can score some goals. That with a big playoff performance might convince a team to spend big. I'm not predicting that but I wouldn't be completely surprised if he got that contract. - gkmkiller
Good player that had a great playoff, but a team would be crazy to give him that contract. He is playing with two of the top 10 players in the world. That makes playing the game much, much easier. |

Agree but I fully believe there is a team out there that will do it. Tomas Fleischman makes $4.5MM and what kind of track record did he have? It only takes one as they say (meaning one team to pay stupid money). |

The only thing is the cap is lower so maybe teams are a little less likely. But it does only take one. If he ends up a Ranger I may need to defend the contract here, which I'm sure will be hard to do |

I don't disagree but he'll only get that contract from a marginal team with space. Or maybe the Islanders -- put him with JT and Molson. |

Would you want to sign him at 5 years/22.5 million? |

I agree with that. Rangers are known for being reckless in free agency but I don't think they will chase Bickell to that extreme. It will either be Chicago or some suck team that makes that mistake. |

That is a bit much I Gota admit.
I said I'd go 4 for 16 in the wings series I believe. I'd stick with that |

He's a good player, TJ, I admit that. I think he benefits from playing with great players, but he still needs to seize the day and take advantage of those opportunies and he's done that. |

It wouldn't surprise me if we find out sather threw him a decent offer but it turned out to be not as much as he gets |

We'll know a lot more in the next 48 hours. If the Rangers do not buyout Richards then they won't add any high profile free agents. If they do then all bets are off. With a new coach and system along with the upcoming decision on Richards it'll be interesting to see what happens in the next couple of weeks. |

Agree. The decision on Richards dramatically changes the complexion of the off-season. They buy him out, the Rangers will have the ability to acquire some significant players. They don't, they tinker but not much more. |

I have this feeling gnawing at me that there will be a trade and it's going to be one that sees a player I like leave NYC. I don't know why I feel that way but I do. And I have no clue what player that might be. |

Well who do you like? I like most of the guys other than Bickel so if there is a trade, a player I like will probably be leaving |

My favorite player is probably McD.
After that it goes something like this:
Hank, Stepan, Callahan, Nash, MZA, Girardi, Staal, Brassard, Hagelin, MDZ, Boyle.
I'd be disappointed to see any of those guys leave. But, I am a fan and will live with whatever they do. |

Hopefully after next season, Kreider cracks that list
But yea I agree, whoever they do trade we will have to live with and learn to accept. Part of me thinks Torts could try to persuade Vancouver to maybe go after a guy like Boyle or Stralman in a trade. Someone who can step into that locker room and help the team through Torts system and style. |

Staal, MDZ, Hagelin and Boyle I could see being moved. Can't really see anyone else of note being moved. |

I could see MZA being a trade chip at the deadline. |
