The team as a whole came together the second half of the season, but IMO, JT was the biggest reason they made it as the 8th seed. Without him there is no playoffs for you.
- LeftCoaster

If Okposo didn't play the way he did. Moulson being put on the 2nd line and Bailey being put on the first and Nabakov's tending the last 15 games. If none of these happened Winnipeg had the eight seed.

I disagree. Both fan bases are equally neurotic. Vancouver fans are very tough on their team. The only year they weren't was 2010-11. It reminds me just like TO. Very similar fan bases - especially when Toronto is making the playoffs consistently like in the early 2000's.

Fair enough, on that note I see Noel just re-signed for another year in Winnipeg.

Of course they would, he's still a fantastic goaltender.

Okposo was playing quite well for them down the stretch. With a little more depth, the isles could really surprise a few in the east next year.
- Canuckleafer

He was. I was ready to ship him out the month before. He was terrible, mailing it in every shift. Just turned it around. Fun to watch. If Bailey, Okposo, can find consistency and one of Nino, Nelson, or even Strome can make an impact we will have a good, competitive team next year. I have a positive outlook for this upcoming season which says a lot.

In HB sure, seems like Canuck fans have a lot to try and defend right now so I can see why that perception exists. I'm sure if you polled fans across the country in 2002 which teams fan base is the most arrogant, the Leafs would have won hands down.

The ONLY reason Ovie won the MVP is because Sid took a puck to the jaw. If Crosby plays 5 more games, he runs away with it.

Oilers - Three #1 picks in a row with a #7 this year
Flames - A complete disaster in recent years and even more so now
Wild - Before Parise and Suter... enough said
Avs - When was the last time the Avs were any threat in the NW?

So yeah, the NW has been weak and the Canucks have been the direct beneficiaries of that.

The SE has been weak too, but at least it has been somewhat competitive from an inter-division POV.

Edit: Like I said, Gillis blew his chance and missed his window over the past few seasons. If you think Vancouver is going to be able to continue as they have been now that the divisions have been aligned and that Edm/Min/Col should be on the rise, YOU ARE DREAMING!

- As_I_See_It

Canucks dominate majority of divisions (regular season that is)... NW is no different from other divisions to them.

Burrows was like that when he was 12 yrs old. Kesler and Yappy Lapierre are also serial a-holes and have been since junior. God you are full of it!!!! I've been reading your posts and you just have nothing....ZERO...intelligent to say.

Torts will be good for the wussies in Van, and AV will be GRRRRREAT for the offensively gifted players in NY who have been stuck in a defensive trap.

I say NYR come out way ahead but it will be good for both.

Are you going to try and convince us all that AV is also responsible for your ignorance and childish attempts at rebuttal?

- JLO961

Such garbage.
You didn't know who Burrows was until he started playing with the Sedins, and he'd spend every shift in the offensive zone of Rexall place.
Kesler never played Junior hockey, he played college at Ohio State.
Lappy wasn't like that in Jr. he was actually a goal scorer with an edge. He converted to pest and agitator in the AHL.

AV did create that diving atmosphere in Van, especially oin 2010 and 2011, because we had a great PP.

If he didn't want that type of play then why did he never address it? I'll tell you why because we were winning, getting PP and converting.

This isn't rocket science.

Should either win an MVP when they constantly choke in the playoffs?

Give me someone like Chara that takes his team to the Stanley Cup.

Not a Former Russian Bear turned Teddy Bear, or a limp wristed, white trash stache center from the steel city.

I just assumed Scooby, Boinkers and Kneughter were representative of the entire fan base.

Oh and that American with the Indian Avatar, he's pretty cool too.

Canucks fans are incredibily hard to reason with. You guys propose a trade for some of your higher priced players, then name a few players you won't from said team (that have a good cap hit) and say it's a great deal for both teams. If someone has the audacity from the other team to say thanks but no thanks, you go (frank)ing nuts at them. After that, you tell them they know nothing about hockey, call them a few names, maybe bring a mum joke in, and worst of all, criticize their spelling.

I love how Crosby has average 1.28 pts/game in his career in the postseason, has won a cup, and constantly chokes in the playoffs.

He'd be the best goaltender to hit free agency in years. I'm sorry to say, but goalies like him rarely hit FA.

Imagine if there were no Compliance Buyouts. What would Gillis do if that were the case? That's what's going to transpire here.

You guys would be so far ahead and might have won the Cup this year if he would have traded him last off season like a good GM would have done...

It's incredibly.

Luongo for Gardiner, Bozak, Kadri, and Toronto's 1st but no instead your team wants an unproven small goalie.

Haters are born from the success of those being hated.

Vancouver has dominated teams for years, so it's only natural that people outside of Vancouver would despise them.

Sidney Crosby is hated because he's the best player in the league. Any person saying that they wouldn't want this "choker" on their team is full of crap.

I agree with you man. Unfortunately we're just watching, and not making any decisions.

It's a show, and the show must go on. If any GM wants to improve their goaltending, Luongo is their best option ATM.
